Golftown. I was just browsing and I noticed it was the new colours. Looked great. They didn't have the new blue one yet though.

The midnight fog is the grey area. Silver is silver and red is red.
There are touches of black but not mentioned on the nike page. |

Yep. The Tour Driver and the hybrid for sure.
The Str8 driver and fairways look good at address but I don't know if I can get over the hosel adjust. screw. The Cobra ZL driver and 909 D2 with 63g fubuki tour interest me as well. For fairways the 909f2 works for me. IF the silver screw doesn't look too bad and the I hit them well of course, I'm looking at the VR fairways strong 3 and 5 and 21 deg hybrid. I'll worry about the driver later! All I know is 2010 looks to be a great year for golf gear. Of course, All this can change as well as the bag if the new ap2 710s prove to be that much more forgiving / easy to hit than the VR irons but I can't see that happening as i owned the old AP2s for 3 rounds before trading them back in. I'm not loyal to anyone but The VR series surely has me waiting as I bought the VR Irons (Both blades and splits) the first time I hit them. |

I hear you bro! 2010 is going to be a great year for golf year and I cannot wait! I'm not sure about which driver I will be getting but it will be the VR Tour or the Str8-Fit. I'm getting the fws and hybrids for sure along with the method putter. I just sold a lot of my old clubs so my paypal is locked and loaded and ready for the new Nike sticks!!! I'm not loyal to anyone but The VR series surely has me waiting as I bought the VR Irons (Both blades and splits) the first time I hit them. |

My rep came in a last week to show me the woods and I gotta say they all look killer from adress. As big as a nike fan I was not happy with the current str8-fit model as I felt they had way to much weight in the head making it to whippy. The new Vr tour str8-fit not only felt great weight wise, it also had a good swing weight. The setup is beatiful, the head is very traditionaly shapped I think a lot of people will like that. I cannot wait to get both the Vr tour and vr tour str8-fit as I loved the way both drivers looked, felt, and weighed! Finally something to kick out my A4 driver. I agree, i put like 8 different Dymo and Dymo squares on the swingweight scale and they all came in at D8. Way too high, felt like I lost 10 mph of clubhead speed |

Well I found that letting the club's weight just fall naturally threw my swing till about a foot before the ball where I accelerated through to finish I got a pretty good swing speed and the distance got up a little higher then my average if say I just swung my natural swing. |

It's odd you guys mention this.
I went to a Str8fit from a very light Ft-9. A trusted the opinion of a swing guru that suggested I go heavier. Personal reservations aside, I went with a 69 gram shaft on a Str8fit and got an increase in club head speed... with obviously a far heavier club. It makes me believe there was a really good reason a lot of guys stay with heavier clubs in the era of 290+ drives. (I'm actually now considering 79 grams) Anyway, I know it's not for everyone. Maybe it's more of a 'hitter's' thing. I really can't explain it, but whatever the reason I actually benefited from the weight. If the reverse were true, I'd probably stay away from it. I'll test again in the future with the VR vs. the VR str8, but still... I can't wait for this new stuff. The only thing I'm wondering about is price. Are they going to try and wack us with a heavy release price on the VR stuff? Because they did that with Dymo, and then within a few months the bottom fell out of the pricing. I think it's just me but the Str8 fit sleeve is a bit distracting, should be a matte black finish instead. Other than that I think the lineup looks great ! I agree....all I see is a giant metal fitting. The traditional hosel version is the best looking driver Nike's ever made. I've never liked Nike but that thing looks good. Hybrid looks horrible. I find it VERY funny how "we" are all complaining about the Str8-Fit adapter and the hybrids. The pros aren't complaining about them at all. The ONLY fairway in the Vr next year will be the Str8-fit. If the pros want to hit the Vr fairway...they will be hitting the Str8-fit. They did not do the fitting black due to chipping of the paint/finish from the wrench. The hybrid....is what the PROs wanted. They had a say in the designs/color schemes of these things. You want what the pros play...now you can get it. If you don't like the ferrule...don't buy the club. |

I like Nike as much as everyone else on topic but if the adapter is distracting, I wont buy the driver / fairways. |

The old adapter is ok for 2010 clubs. Then you got only 8 options to use vs 32. Every shaft from dymo STR8 or machspeed is ok to new VR adapter. We tested also to put shaft from VR fairway to VR driver. YES 43" driver with heavier shaft. We also get 3mph more clubhead speed with machspeed driver vs VR with same VR's voodoo shaft. So that isn't just bulls.... marketing talking. The VR driver was so fantastic, that it is the winner in my bag. Very impressed.

Unless you are playing a PGA tour event you will not have to worry till 2024. All Vr otr sets are legal till then in all events minus pga tour, and us open qualifiers (After the first stage) Conforming grooves for wedges will be available on a special order basis if you really need a set.

Ditto on the hideous hybrid. I guess Super Moment of Inertia and Dynamic Moment of Inertia were just trends, then? If it was so superior (which I doubt, since I own one) why aren't they continuing with that?

Does anyone know if the STR8 adapter has changed any for the 2010 model year? Will our shafts from last years driver fit into next years club? From the Nike rep....no they will not fit. Big surprise there. Gotta make money (more than they already do) somehow. |
