Hey guys, I'm looking for a piece of software that will automatically compute scores, winners, etc for multi-team Nassau's. We have a weekend skins game that usually has 16 to 30 players and 6-4 man teams, or 5-3 mans, etc, etc.
Does anyone know of an application that can do this? I've looked and can't find anything. What would be ideal is an app for the iPhone, I use Golfcard, but it only has 2 Nassau teams. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thx in advance! Pat |

I see no replies, does that mean such software doesn't exist? (I certainly can't find any such animal) With all the technology available today, I find it hard to believe, but I guess it is what it is. With that said, can anyone explain to me how to score it?
Let's say we have 5, 3 man teams and playing 2 balls. Sorry, but all these years someone else has always scored it. Thanx in advance! |

I don't know of any specific software for this purpose, especially not for a PDA or such, but it would be pretty easy to do with any spreadsheet application on a laptop. That being said, determining winners in a Nassau is about as simple as it gets. The team with the lowest score on the front nine wins the front nine. The team with the lowest score on the back nine wins the back nine. Say there's $100 in the pot, the team winning the front nine splits $50 and the team winning the back nine splits the other $50.
What are you having difficulty with specifically? |

I guess I'm over thinking it. I'm trying to incorporate a member game at my club like I play with another group and it just seems very complicated I guess. Don't get me wrong, I play a Nassau all the time, but not multi-team and multi-ball nassau's. So if there's 2 balls on the front, 2 on the back and I guess 1 for the total.
Yesterday, due to weather, we only had 6 guys, so we played 3, 2 mans. Took the best ball from each team, each hole and scored 3 balls. Sure, piece of cake, but if we start playing 2 balls a team a side and a total? I dunno, perhaps "I am" over thinking it? Anyway, thx for the reply! |

QUOTE Let's say we have 5, 3 man teams and playing 2 balls. Can you explain the mechanics of how the game is played, particularly how the 2 balls fit in? To clarify, I'm not asking about the scoring, but about what the players do. In other words, does a three man team play just two balls (and how do they do that - a single plus and alternate shot?), or is that just for scoring purposes? |

Sorry, we're scoring two of the lowest balls of a 3-4 man team. Like I said, I think I'm over thinking this, in a big way! These teams are split up and playing in different groups, there may be 3-4 players of a team in 3-4 different groups, so nobody in the same group plays with a "teammate" or knows what their teammate is doing/scoring, not by design and no other reason except that's how they go out, and they very well may be in the same group.
Sorry for the late reply. |
