Now that the season is off for both Tours, who is your Pick for Rookie of the year, and who will finish highest on their respective Money List? For the Ladies we have front runners Shin, Hurst, Wie and Lewis. On the mens side we have Simpson, Nittles, Knost and Fathauer as potential front runners. I will go with Knost and Wie, since Shin is number 5 in the world already, I am ignoring her as a "Rookie". Imoressive start to the season by Simpson and Nittles already. I think it is a given the LPGA rookie of the year will finish higher on that tours money list then the PGA counterpart will on his.

Mens: Simpson or Merrick (I'll take Simpson)

Ladies: Hurst or Wie (I'll take Hurst, she's a proven winner)

It's tough to say after the ladies only playing one round, but I think MW is set to have a great year she is going ot be a full time golfer for the first time, and will play a full schedule I think you will see here grow allot as a play and as a person this season, if her first round is any indication she has got her game back! -6 with 3 birds on the last three holes.

As for the men's side, that is a tougher one to pick, I'm going to wait that one out before I say either way.

I think Michele Wie will not only be Rookie of the Year, she will dominate and be Player of the Year. My gut feeling, might just be gas... laugh.gif

I have high hopes for her also. I think parenting (just plain the parents) issues really hurt the public's perception of her.

Hurst, she knows how to win, I am not convinced Wie does, her putter will let her down under pressure. That being said she has been close many times so she may cross that bridge and win 8 times, but Hust won I believe 5 times on the Futures tour last year. As Nicklaus and Tiger have always contended winning breeds winning, and that to me is the knock on Wie she has been close many times but she was playing over her "pay grade" so many times I dont know if she learned how to win.

Men...maybe Simpson or Woodland,, dont really know, if one of these guys pulls off one win somewhere they will get it, none of the men will have near the impact the women do, plus the LPGA will will be really trying to promote them since Annika is gone.

I'll go with Webb Simpson. It's hard to think of Wie as a rookie since she's had 40 something starts, but technically she is a rookie guess. But I'll go with Stacey Lewis.
