The real question is, if the tornado moves your ball, do you play it as it lies?
Thankfully everyone seems to be O.K. http://www.khon2.com/news/local/39472357.html |

QUOTE "Spectacular to see - thought I was in Kansas watching the tornado come thru," said James Fernandez, golfer. Kansas does see a lot of tornados... This made me laugh when I read it... |

A friend who's a Japan Pro and who was playing with the up and coming teen Japan sensation Kumiko Kaneda were on the course when it hit. The employees were driving out telling everyone to evacuate. Their foursome abandoned the carts and started running because it was coming right down on top of them. Some of their clubs got sucked out of the bag's while the carts were getting lifted in the air. Total chaos but luckily no major injuries.
I saw him today and he was laughing about it..but he said he ran faster then he knew he could the other day! |

Crazy stuff here in Kapolei...I live about a half mile from the golf course, but we were fortunate to not get hit.

Wow. This story is almost identical to a freakish, out of nowhere mini-tornado that happened several years ago in Los Alamos. A couple carts ended up on the practice green, and the driving range mats were thrown almost half a mile. Assistant pro was picked up and thrown almost 20 feet while he was making a break for the clubhouse. Stupid wind.
Really glad nobody was seriously injured. Oh and yes you would play it as it lies (good luck finding it though), lol. |
