I ran into these by chance. The seller didn't know what he had. They are brand new and according to Footjoy, they are some vintage Custom Classics. These had the old tassels that covered the laces, but that will be removed by a shoemaker.
These would run about $1500+. I won't say what I got them for, but it was a lot less than that. What do you think?

Very nice.
Not in the same league, but I've got a beautiful old pair of all-white Classics that are 20 years old and still look fantastic. Sadly, the Real Spikes SS have issued an edict that no more metal spikes are allowed, so they've been in forced retirement for several years. |
