Let's get a little survey going here... drivers are so important and I'm getting kinda tired of mine. Maybe one of you can point me in a new direction. Let's get a format for this thing too.
Model: Callaway ERC Fusion Loft: 10.5 degree Shaft: Prolite 3.5 stiff Why: I seem to be among the few who actually like the feel of this club. It's forgiving and longer than the Biggest Big Bertha that I was playing before it. I don't like how high I hit it, though. |

Driver Macgregor Eye-O-Matic M380 (380cc)
Loft 8.5* Shaft Y-S 6.1 S flex I hit it because I love the sound and I prefer to play a fade off of the tee box and there is no way to hit a draw with it. I could probably go for something bigger or with more appeal but this driver gives me what I want in a driver. |

TaylorMade R5-Neutral, 9.5*, Accra T60 M5 shaft
Why? * The R5 was simply the best combination of length, feel, and forgiveness I demoed at the time. I'm normally not a TM fan, but this is a good clubhead. * Neutral - Because the "Draw" version would produce SEVERE left shots if I came over-the-top. I also dislike too much offset, and my theory is: Fix your SWING first, and get a neutrally setup club to accomodate any shot pattern. * 9.5* - My launch monitor figures (launch angles 9*-11*) dictate I should have a 10.5* driver, but what the heck. * Accra - I love smooth feeling shafts, and this ACCRA fits the bill perfectly. It's a very accurate and good feeling shaft. The dispersion pattern is a lot tighter than that P.O.S. OEM MAS2 shaft as well. * Spined - While it's hard to statistically prove the results, I ALWAYS spine/pure my shafts. I guess that makes me feel better inside the head! PS: While I love this R5, I'd love to try the new R5 TP with a good shaft, and the new Nike SasQuatch. I'm reading that the SQ has one of the highest MOI's, with a nice feeling driver that helps correct slicing, and is very straight - and.........with limited offset. Sounds interesting. |

G2, 10*,TFC-100 Soft R-flex.
The G2 with this flex helps me get the ball in the air because my swing speed isn't very fast. Best driver I have ever hit!! |

Model: Titleist 905T & 905S
Loft: 9.5 degree (in both models) Shaft: Fujikura Tour Platform 26.3 S flex graphite Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet Although the 905 has been much maligned and is even considered a sales flop by some in the business (see posts on this site and others), I really think its a very good driver. I moved onto it from a 983K and find it easier to play consistently with and it has an equally good feel of the face. It also makes a muted sound on impact unlike some other recently launched cannons like the Callaway FT-3. I like the Fuji TP shaft because it is very responsive. I alternate between the T in good conditions where carry is the main consideration and the S in windy conditions for a lower flight. As I say I can't understand the antipathy towards this driver even from some Titleist Hos as it meets the mark on just about every level for me. As with all things golf I suppose its down to the individual and how a club works for them - and the 905 certainly works for me. Drawmerchant |

I'm without a doubt a huge club ho, but one thing i have not done through the years, is go through a bunch of drivers. (i've bought about 8 to 10 sets of irons over the last 10 years, yikes). I used the original Great Big Bertha 8 degree, stock stiff shaft from 1995 to about 2000. Honestly don't think i ever missed a drive with it.
Since June of 2003 i've been using the TM R510 (non TP), 9.5, stock stiff shaft, still has the original drip. The club is unbelievable. It's so unasuming looking, small 330 cc head and It goes a mile and very straight. I have so much confidence with it. I'm due for a new one, will probably go to a 400-440cc soon, not sure which one, i'd like to get a R7 with a nice square head, but have not seen one. My 510 is perfectly square , which is another reason i love it. |

Ping G2 10 degree with Grafalloy Prolaunch Blue Reg shaft.
I just switched from a Cleveland Launcher 460 Ti at the end of this season. The G2 has a more square set up at address. I am an 18 handicap and haven't done all of the launch monitor evaluations that you single digit guys are doing but this driver feels better to me than any other I have played. I am hitting more fairways now than I have all summer. |

Currently playing a MIzuno MP-001 400cc with stock exsar shaft.
I am playing this because I like the smaller profile of this 400cc head. I have grown very comfortable with this driver throughout the year. I need a new shaft for it though as I hate the stock exsar. Not saying I wouldn't go to a new driver if I foudn a better one..... |

Alpha Reaction C830.2 7.5* 460cc head with AccuFlex Evolution shaft. This thing is amazing!!! I love it and don't see me changing heads anytime soon. I may do some more experimenting with shafts if I get the chance, but the head will stay the same

I use a Ping G2 10* with Aldila NV shaft. I plan on reshafting it over the winter.
When I bought this driver the only other lefty demo was a Callaway 454 and I liked this one better. It was just straighter for me then the Callaway. I don't see this one leaving my bag anytime soon. |

Have a G5 w/ NV X on the way. Demo'd it against the Cally454, Comp, FT-3, and the new Mizuno (solid sleeper). The G5 set up squarer than the rest, sounded the best (FT3 is solid if can get past the sound/feel), and was longer for me than all the others. I was one hopping the back of the range at 280 into a nice 10 mph wind. Dont know how long the NV shaft will last (wanted the CompNT but was backordered for 3 weeks), but definitely liked the G5 head.

1. nike ignite 410 9.5* w/ aldila nv-75 stiff - absolutely awesome. very long and very tight dispersion when my swing isn't miserable. nice penetrating ball flight. don't lose much in a head wind
2. nike ignite 410 9.5* w/graphite design ys-6 stiff - shaft is horrible. have no control of it. haven't decided whether to sell or reshaft with a prolite 35 stiff 3. nike 350 forge ti 9.5* w/ prolite 35 stiff. long, not as long as ignite. very consistent. real nice back up driver |

I have two that I rotate depending on how often I am playing.
Alpha RX460 10.5* w/Penley STEALTH 70 and a Cleveland Launcher (330cc) 9.5* loft w/Cleveland/Fujikura Gold shaft. I hit the Alpha higher and farther, but only when I play often otherwise it's big clunky and I don't like swinging it. I hit the Launcher more consistently (shorter, but straighter) so it's usually in the bag. The smaller head equals a smaller more controlled swing for me (I have problems over swinging and 'muscling' it). However, being a club ho (a cheap one at that) I'll probably switch to an Adams Redline Tour 9.5* or 10.5* head with a ProLaunch or a Penley STEALTH . . . |

Callaway FT3 Tour 9.5* w/Aldila NVS-65S draw bias
FT3 Tour is low spin, low launch head. Have a tendency to spin the ball too much with a driver. Prefer to play a draw over a fade. As long I do not go after the ball, too hard, the NVS-65S is a great shaft - otherwise it's walks down the left side of the fairway. Also the NVS-65S shaft helps offset some of the low launch characteristics of the clubhead . |

Tourstage X Drive 405 with Graphite Design TOur AD M-65/X
I've been experimenting with a few other drivers, the last being a Mizuno MP001 460cc. I keep thinking that if the top Pro's are going to 460's, then maybe I should think of going in that direction too. So far, I haven't come across anything that I consistently hit as far or as solid as the X Drive. If anything I'll just hold out till next years X Drive 460 to try something new again. |

I'm currently playing a Nike Ignite driver. It has a distinctive sound which I'm not too fond of, but it is much more consistent and forgiving than my current backup driver (Taylor Made 540XD TP), which is why the Nike is in the bag, and the Taylor Made is in the closet.

I have too many drivers but the ones I'm currently playing with:
Callaway FT-3 10 draw w/ stock NVS55 stiff. Very accurate and very long. Great feel even with the light shaft. Rewards smooth acceleration. TaylorMade R7 10.5 w/ Fujikura 757 stiff. Good boring trajectory and backup to FT-3. TaylorMade R580XD 9.5 w/ Mitsubishi Rayon Tour H. Kuehne Stiff. Heavier shaft than I usually use but helps prevent tempo from getting too quick. Callaway 454 10 w/ NVS65 stiff. Great sound at impact and very accurate. Not as long as FT-3 but great overall balance and feel. |

Mizuno MP-001 400cc 10* Stock Exsar Shaft.
Why? Cause I am a student who needs to watch his money and everyone was telling me how great the driver was. Cant miss a fairway with these. May need to switch to 460cc eventually to get some added pop, but I dont have that kind of cash at the moment. |

It came with the NV but I hated it. The Accra shaft is way way better. And the HF (hybrid, fairway wood) shaft in my TM Retro Raylor is an awesome combination as well. |
