Did it look like SLOW PLAY

Yesterday as I watched the final round of the Lorena LPGA event, it sured seemed as if the players playing in front of Wie and the other players in her group went into super slow mode on or about 15th hole and beyond.

Watching the event on TV, it almost seemed like once the other players didnt think they could catch Wie, its like they were gonna see if they could bring her down a level with trying to get in her head with slow play.....

Looked as if nothing was going to changed the outcome of the event...... Wie handled it all and then some with total game.....both mental and physical....

great win for Wie and still left some drama for the player of the year deal.....

Big congrats to Michelle Wie for her first win on the LPGA Tour. I hope she can continue her good play. What a great tournament and awesome leaderboard. The LPGA needs more tournaments with finishes like this one.

White feet

I have begun using the Solafeet foot tanner after I play to get rid of white feet. While it took a week to get from stark white feet to tan, now I use it after each round. This sounds difficult but because I keep it at my computer, I just slip my feet in for 15 mins. every time I log on--which is every day almost. Am I the only one who was disgusted with my white feet?

My last piece of golf equipment

I have been set up for all my clubs except the putter wher I am just using one of my dads old putters and although I putt pretty well with it we think I would benefit from getting set up for a putter. My dad has suggested going to Ping and getting set up in their facility but I fancy a Scotty Cameron as they look fab and I am sure there would be one out there that suited me, I would also like to get my name engraved on the putter which I understand Scotty do but not sure about Ping!

I really want to make the right decision and have a putter that I can get used to and keep for a very long time. what would you guys do?

Best Swing on the LPGA

I would like to know which swing on the LPGA is considered as the most
best / technically correct golf swing and what is its best aspect, such
as: backswing, flexibility, tempo, downswing, plane, consistency,
etc. or all of the above. I am looking for a swing that can be used
as an ideal swing to imitate for female golfers.

For example, I know that for a PGA Tiger Woods is no question
one to consider, but what about a female model on the LPGA?

I appreciate your comments and possibly swing sequence pictures and
videos. Maybe we can come up with a poll with a few finalists
to consider.

Duramed Futures Tour Q School

They opened play today on four courses in Central Florida, a bloated field of 292 but when applications opened they thought it might be as high as 416. Each player will play one round on the four courses, followed by a 72 hole cut and then a final round with everyone on the same course on Friday. It's not specified at this link but I believe I've read that it takes Top 90 to earn status.

http://www.duramedfuturestour.com/NewsRoom...e-10-30-09.html

I don't recognize as many names at typical. Tiffany Joh opened with 5 under par 67 to share the lead. She has an excellent amateur and collegiate resume, and is basically using this event as a fall back in case she does not advance at LPGA Q School finals in December.

There are a few Big Break alumnae. Susan Choi (Ka'anapali) and Camila Mori (Michigan) opened with very good rounds of 70, 2 under par for T13. Amber Prange (Michigan) posted 73.

Charlotte Campbell, winner of Highway 18 along wth her brother Rob, announced plans to play in this event on her blog a couple of months ago, but I didn't see her name today, in the scores or on the player roster. She has some status for 2010 but is not fully exempt.

The website only provides scores at the end of each round, not live scoring. And already eight women have shot 87 or higher, which is the knockout number, meaning you are booted from the event and can't have status for 2010:

http://duramedfuturesrealtime.com/2009/QualifierRealTime.asp

LPGA officially renamed ALPGA

I know this thread has been covered before. But, seeing that the current ladies tour event is being dominated by the Asian players. Something needs to change, this is absurd. I know the common reaction is, this is a global tour and there are positives about this. But, this has gone too far!!! There are certainly very few roles models for "our" aspiring tour professionals.

Michael Whan to be announced as new LPGA commissioner

http://msn.foxsports.com/golf/story/102842...ew-commissioner

"Michael Whan will be introduced Wednesday morning at Madison Square Garden in New York as the new LPGA commissioner, two sources with inside knowledge of the hiring told Golfweek.

Whan, believed to be 44, was most recently president and CEO of Mission-ITECH Hockey.

Whan replaces Carolyn Bivens, who was forced out after several high-profile players called for her resignation in the week preceding the U.S. Women's Open. Bivens, the LPGA's first female commissioner, resigned shortly thereafter."

<snip>

"In a memo to players informing them of the news Tuesday evening, (interim commissioner Marty) Evans wrote that Whan "has extensive brand management and marketing experience, including two stints in the golf industry with TaylorMade and Wilson. He brings CEO experience and has an extensive track record as a dynamic leader."

Whan served as executive vice president/general manager of North America TaylorMade Adidas Golf from 1995 to 2000, and he also worked at Wilson."
