The US team all but put away the International team winning 7 1/2 of 10 possible points on Saturday. Even the ever optimistic Gary Player admitted things are not “sunny side up” heading into Sundays singles. The International squad needs to win 10 of 12 matches to capture the cup, a task made more formidable by the stellar play of the Americans. The match of interest will be Tiger Woods squaring off against home country favorite son Mike Weir, the man responsible for getting the Presidents Cup to Canada. Also of note will be the match between Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh. Mr. Player summed up the reason for the drubbing thus far quite nicely; the Americans are playing better golf.

Finding the right club fitter will do wonders for the average golfer’s game.
In fact, I would argue that the average joe golfer stands more to gain from a good club fitting session than a professional golfer. I tried two other club fitters before the 3rd one had me fitted correctly. That’s right, the third [...]
We get a two for one special this week on the PGA Tour as there are two events, one The Presidents Cup, and two the Viking Classic. Each event is special and important in its own right. The President’s Cup is important not from a monetary standpoint, but from a country pride, and team standpoint. [...]
During the past year the United States Golf Association came out with an updated ruling in regard to golf club adjustability.
We can already adjust weight on putters and many of the newer drivers. Many have speculated this is an attempt to bring increased club adjustability to the golfing masses and not just the elite tour [...]
What an amazing feeling, aside from the fact that I had a few cocktails, I was still on cloud nine. I had no idea what was in store for me, but I did know that I had just achieved something that not a lot of people will ever do; qualifying for a PGA tour event.

Steve Flesch shot 66 Saturday for a four shot lead over Carl Pettersson and Charles Warren. Mr. Flesch birdied four of the last five holes on a day when the winds reached 25mph. In a seeming repeat of the Reno Tahoe Open in August, Mr. Flesch is striking his irons crisply and putting quite well. Mr. Warren is again chasing him in an effort to win his first PGA Tour event. With the wind supposed to blow again Sunday, my guess is Mr. Warren will need to wait another day.
