Nike Golf Adds a New Face of Confidence to its Method Core Putter Line- The Nike Method Core Drone already has Tour-proven success with more than 25 worldwide wins. Nike athlete Suzann Pettersen already has won twice with the Method Core Drone, once on the Ladies European Tour at the Ladies Irish Open, and again on the LPGA Tour at the Safeway Classic. After her first victory with it in Ireland, she was so thrilled that she tweeted about it with an accompanying photo saying:

“My new best friend from Nike. The Drone!”

Available on November 1, 2011, the Nike Method Core Drone features the Nike major-winning Polymetal groove technology in a high-Moment of Inertia (MOI) package. With its iconic larger mallet shape and milled face, the Nike Method Core Drone is loaded with geometry. Its extreme mallet design and Opti-mass weighting in the center and wing tips keep the clubhead on its path, preventing twisting and creating a smooth, accurate stroke. The high-MOI putter enables more stability, which provides a better roll and ultimately leads to increased confidence over every putt.
The Nike Method Core Drone also has the distinctive Polymetal Groove Technology that exists in all Nike Method putters, generating a faster forward roll at impact for increased accuracy. The polymer and aluminum grooves lessen impact vibrations and provides pure sound and feel. This helps eliminate backspin, which causes skidding and misdirection. This revolutionary and visibly distinctive red insert decreases backspin, which was expressed by Nike Golf athletes as an important ingredient to their putting accuracy, distance control and ultimate putting success. The less backspin, the more “true” the putt will roll.
The Method Core Drone also comes in a belly putter length and is one of six models in the Nike Method Core line.

SPOTTED: New Callaway Forged irons… Apex or Legacy?

Published

on

Photos of a new Callaway Forged iron popped up in our GolfWRX Forums, and our members are trying to figure out whether they’re going to be replacements for Apex Pro irons, or whether they’re an update on the Legacy series. They could also be X-Forged irons, but since Callaway recently came out with new X-Forged irons, that would be unlikely.

Here’s what GolfWRX Members are saying:

  • elwhippy: A new Legacy iron? Looks a bit Japanese shaped.
  • mattTHEkatt: Like an X-Forged/Legacy Black mashup. They look powerful.
  • DTown3011: …gotta be the next Apex!
  • J13: Pics look like a newer legacy black.
  • mgholda: Pics look like a newer legacy black.
  • TheMoneyShot: I thought Cally was going to phase out the Apex name after they released the MBs?
  • john443: A larger cavity in these then the X- Forged… competitor to the 750 and AP3 maybe? …or Legacy Black finally brought to retail…hallelujah. CF16 replacement???!
  • Equipto: These look very sharp, and like thumpers. I don’t care if they are a Legacy Black or Apex replacement, call them whatever… i’ll try them
  • mrmikeac: Next gen Callaway Apex Legacy? Hmmmm…..
  • Brizam: The Legacy Black might be the best players cavity back ever made.  If they were to become available they’d move straight to the top of the list of clubs to buy for me.
  • Jourdan M: This is the Apex Pro

Here are photos of the new Callaway irons we spotted

Which one do you think the new iron looks like?
