Every year, smartphone cameras get better and better. But even the most advanced smartphones aren’t powerful enough to capture the high-quality video golfers need to analyze their swings the same way instructors and professional golfers do.

V1 Sports, a sports motion analysis company specializing in video analysis software, has more than than 3,500 PGA professionals using its golf video analysis software. The company’s $4.99 V1 Golf app (available in the App Store and on Google Play) has become popular with consumers as well.

This year, V1 partnered with Sony to take the next step with its video analysis software. Its apps are now compatible with the Sony Handy Cam, which can share high-speed HD video with a golfer’s iOS or Android device through the camera’s dedicated wi-fi connection.

At $269.99, the V1-enabled Sony Action Cam is one of the cheapest high-quality swing video solutions on the market. It can also make remote instruction a real possibility for the discerning golfer.
