What GolfWRXers are saying about the best new blade irons
In our forums, our members have been discussing recently released blade irons. WRXer ‘jgaudy5’ is on the hunt for some blades and is considering Ping’s Blueprints, but has asked fellow members for their choices in our forum who have been having their say.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- av1084: “They are all good…it’s down to what suits your eye and turf interaction for your swing…Sets that do seem to have a big following though: Wilson Staff Blades, Mizuno MP20, P7TW. It’s all personal preference though!”
- Phireside: “Mizuno. Always Mizuno.”
- Tar_Heel_93: “Lots of good choices. I love my Apex MB irons but also liked the Mizuno MP18s, MP20s and blueprints. Love the look of the Wilson irons but haven’t hit them yet. New Titleist MBs and Srixon Z forged were a step behind the other irons, but I think that had more to do with the available shafts when I hit them. I have been tempted to try the Rose Protos too.”
- nazio: “Another vote for the Wilson Staff model blades which I’m gaming. They’re phenomenal and gorgeous and very forgiving for a blade imo.”
- Russ757: “Z forged. Got a combo set and stopped at the 8 initially. Went back and grabbed a 7, built them up and took it to the range and proceeded to literally hit 6 flags with the blades. Now I’m looking for a 6i.”

Todays Blade is much easier to hit than what we had in the old days. They look like real Golf Clubs and not the jacked up CBs today, although CBs are really better for all Golfers; unfortunately I can’t play anymore because of physical problems bit if I could I would be playing Wilson Blades. They are soft, and really good playing and looking. Love chrome blades.

While all Mizuno MPs are great some (eg MP33) are particularly so but the MP 20 are, in my opinion, the best ever with progression through the set being especially noteworthy.
Mizuno make the best irons, MPs are the best Mizunos, and MP20 are the best MPs. Nothing more to be said.
