Today from the Forums “The best $25 decision I’ve ever made”

Published

on

Today from the Forums we take a look at WRXer, AdamStoutjesdyk, who has managed to score himself a classic Ping Karsten Anser for the sum of just $25. Per AdamStoutjesdyk:

“So I was scrolling through eBay because I’m an absolute degenerate and I came across this BEAUT for $25 buy it now with free shipping, it’s everything I’ve been searching for without spending $400 on a refinished Tei3.”

Our members – who are all in agreement that the deal is fantastic – have been discussing the find in our forums and sharing their own experiences of finding deals on eBay.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • MountainGoat: “In my experience, those old PINGs are magnificent putters if played with lightweight, old school grips. Modern 80+ gram grips throw off the swing weight too much.”
  • Davidv: “Great find and an absolutely fantastic deal.”
  • 3puttsRLife: “Good find. I’m an eBay club hoe from way back. Picked this up for $30 few weeks ago. 85020 ping pal.”
  • Valtiel: “The Wedgeworks 58* K-grind in my signature was listed for like $36 on eBay, easily the best deal I’ve gotten I think.”

When I was 16 I was struggling trying to find a putter that would slow down my stroke. On eBay was a seemingly untouched Ping lil’b 39” putter. For those who don’t know, it’s a center shafted putter with the smallest of offsets at then bottom of the club. I couldn’t really get used to the longer shaft but I loved the feel of the putter. Went to golf mart and knocked it down to 34” and this heavy Frankenstein putter has been in the bag for 13 years!
