Today from the Forums: “Mizuno ST200G – Wow”
Today from the Forums, we take a look at WRX member, wolvverine’s recent experience when going for a driver fitting and how he has been blown away by the Mizuno ST200G. Wolvverine tried out the Mavrik Sub Zero, TS3, and Cobra Speedzone and gave his informative feedback on each in the thread, but when it came to the ST200G, wolvverine gave this glowing write-up:
“Last thing I tried was the Mizuno ST200G with the Fuji Atmos 6x and I assumed it would perform a lot like the TS3 and while it did in the looks and sound department it was also a ballspeed monster. 160, 161, 160 on my first 3 swings. I was sitting 260-265 carry pretty much all day and flew it over 270 pretty much every time with 2300 spin. I was skeptical about a $500 Mizuno driver, but the results were incredible. It, of course, had the same issue as all of the low spin drivers on the market where high toe shots are very low spinning but you can’t blame the club for that, and the ones that were high toe were nowhere near as wild as SIM.
I ended up going with the Mizuno which btw do free shaft and grip upgrades, and you also get a case of their new balls for free with the purchase. For those on the fence about the Mizuno go out and hit it.”
Our members have been discussing the feedback and sharing their thoughts in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- bdmiller61: “So glad to hear this. I currently play the ST190G with Atmos Black 6x and thought it would stay in my bag for quite a few years…until the 200g came out. After chatting with a Mizuno rep about it, I ordered it without even trying it. ST200G with Ventus Black 7x on the way. Can’t wait to hit it.”
- Man_O_War: “The cobra SZ is amazing.”
- Aucaveman: “I tested and got fit for the 200 with Atmos black 7s. Found a 190 with that shaft along with a 190 3 wood with the same shaft. I saved $200 and got the 3wood for free essentially. I couldn’t justify the extra cash. Both are fantastic! I came from an m1, and while the m1 may be a touch longer overall, I could still hit it off the plane left and right at times. the 190 is by far the best driver I’ve ever had in the bag.”

From the Forums: How are you liking TaylorMade’s Qi10 fairway woods?
In our forums, our members have been discussing TaylorMade’s new Qi10 fairway woods. WRXer ‘ace036’ plans on testing them in the next few weeks, saying: “from how they look from address and frame the ball is much more appealing to my eye versus my current Paradym fairway woods.” And our members have been sharing their positive feedback in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Edwardsr: “I got fit into the Qi10 core model with Ventus TR Black 8X and it’s absolutely amazing for me.During the fitting with my 12-15 swings with it, it was the most efficient combo I’ve ever tested, tons of 1.48 smash and 3 or 4 1.49 smash (which I don’t think I’ve ever gotten on 3 wood on a launch monitor).”
- MiloMalt: “No complaints and so far only high praise for my Qi10 Tour 3 and 5 wood. I’m getting great numbers and a nice penetrating ball flight with great height whereas with my old TSi2 4 wood it was spinny and ballooning and short because of that.”
- courcy75: “The Qi10 Tour 3 wood I just put in play has been outstanding for me. Finally found something I like as much as the 07 burner tp.”
