Today from the Forums: “Brooks Koepka’s putter change for 2020”

Published

on

Today from the Forums sees our members discussing Brooks Koepka’s putter change to begin 2020. Per our Instagram page, his faithful T10 Newport 2 has been replaced by a new Silver Finish T22 with a SuperStroke Traxion Pistol GT 2.0 grip.

Koepka finished last season ranked 48th in strokes gained: putting and WRXers have been discussing the change of flat-stick in our forums.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • GoIrish17: “The beauty of being a free agent. Try it all; see what works best.”
  • TomBomb51: “This putter change scares me.”
  • Pingman2019: “Bigger change on the putter than anything is the super stroke grip probably didn’t want to take a chance on the grip off the buttonback going back on 100% the same if the super stroke didn’t work out.”

A perfect example of how news has devolved where speed is the highest priority, not accuracy.

    Proof-reading isn’t a tough job….

The listed specs are for his 3 iron (according to posted Instagram), NOT for his putter.

Can’t even fathom having 18 degrees of loft and a graphite hybrid shaft in a putter.

WRX is going down the drain!

Dude, its an instagram pic of the putter, with some writing about a different club change. and you are acting like CNN mistook coronavirus for ebola. If any part of Golfwrx is going down the drain, it is the intelligence level of unpublished keyboard critics in comment section. Go publish some work. dumb fry cook.

Spotted: Project X Denali hybrid shaft

Published

on

Project X’s Denali wood shafts have been seen in more and more golf bags this year as we start off the season. As a refresher, Denali Blue is the mid-launch and mid-spin model while Denali Black is for players seeking lower launch and spin.

Denali combines great feel with stability and increased ball speed. Currently, Project X only offers Denali Blue and Black in wood shafts, but we spotted a hybrid shaft in Daniel Berger’s bag at the 2024 Zurich Classic.

The shaft looks to be a Denali Blue 105G – HY in TX flex. No word on details from Project X yet but we can assume that this is a mid-launching shaft that weighs around 105 grams in Tour X-Stiff flex.

Berger has this shaft in his TaylorMade P770 3-iron, likely for some added launch and spin to hold the green from longer distances.

Hopefully, this means we will see some more shafts coming under the Denali name in the future, as I think many of us would like to try one in a hybrid or utility iron!
