The new Puma polo that Bryson DeChambeau is refusing to wear

Published

on

Puma’s new “Saltwater Collection” was on show during the opening round of the Hero Challenge on Wednesday, with Rickie Fowler and Gary Woodland wearing a variation of the brand’s new Slow Play Golf Polo.

The Slow Play Golf Polo and Slow Play Pocket Golf Polo are turtle-patterned polos which poke fun at slow play – just don’t expect to see Puma ambassador Bryson DeChambeau, who has come under fire for his slow play on the course in the past, to sport the shirt in competition.

Speaking on the prospect of wearing the polo, the 26-year-old told Golf Channel

“It’s an awesome collection. They had the turtle one, and I wasn’t about to wear that. Not gonna happen.”

Rickie Fowler, however, believes DeChambeau’s refusal to wear the shirt is a missed opportunity, who he feels could have had some fun by wearing the new polo.

“I understand why. I thought it would’ve been awesome if he would’ve went with it. … And if people ask, ‘Well, Bryson, why’re you wearing it?’ [He could say] ‘Actually, It’s my own line. You know, [I’m a] little slow. Gary and Rickie decided to jump on board and be very supportive of me to help me through this tough time.’ He could’ve had some fun with it, but there’s time.”

You can check out the full Saltwater Collection here. In the meantime, we’ll have our eyes peeled to see if Bryson has a change of heart this week in the Bahamas!

Alternate hypothesis: the shirts are ugly.

Clown shirts. Not a fan of the narcissist B but I side with him on this.

Rickie Fowler just put out a one-paragraph primer on why he’s more likeable than Bryson and almost every other guy on Tour. You can’t take yourself too seriously out there (especially if you’re the dude wearing the funny hat – can you imagine if Payne lacked a sense of humor?)

Brooks Koepka drops mic on Bryson’s trash talking

Published

on

What started last year as a call out for “overcalculations” by Brooks Koepka on Bryson DeChambeau’s slow play during a tournament press conference has now escalated to what could be considered in the social media world as a full-fledged beef.

Unfortunately, in war there are casualties, and this morning a calculating Brooks fired a single shot that has so far left Bryson at a loss for words.

But how we got to this point could possibly be the most interesting part of the story.

Bryson made it very clear after the end of the 2019 PGA Tour season he wanted to get bulked and attempt to add up to 25 pounds of muscle to help gain speed and overall strength—what could have remained a quiet private endeavor in the gym quickly became the greatest gift from the golf content gods; Bryson DeChambeau talking non-stop about his workouts and how much bigger he was getting compared to golf’s favorite “built like a linebacker” individual, Brooks Koepka.

It gets weirder: trust me.

Beyond his time in the gym, one of Bryson’s favorite pastimes is playing Fortnite and streaming to Twitch (I really don’t get it either but to each their own). A lot is said in what usually accounts to a few hours of gameplay, but thanks to Golf.com’s Luke Kerr-Dineen, we did get this little nugget from one of the most recent streams:

It was after this comment got back to Brooks that he “loaded the proverbial twitter sniper rifle and fired,” and let’s just say the replies might be just as funny as the initial tweet.

This is most likely not the end to this back and forth verbal boxing match between Brooks and Bryson, and for the sake of fun I hope it goes all 12 rounds.
