Forum Thread of the Day: “Players on the move in 2020?”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from speeder717 who opens up discussion on potential moves players may make in 2020. With Jason Dufner to Cobra already confirmed, WRXers are speculating on more big changes which could occur in the new year.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • GDTBATH: “I’m interested to see if Brooks ever nails down something official. He’s leaving a lot of cheddar on the table.”
  • Golfjack: “If Cobra could land Brooks, it would be huge for them.”
  • TheMoneyShot: “I heard Fowler to TM as well.”
  • MidwestGolfBum: “It seems like Brooks would have signed with somebody if he wanted that. I wouldn’t doubt that people have thrown some decent sized numbers at him at this point. Club deals aren’t as big as they once were, so maybe he is just happy to be playing whatever he likes, winning a ton of cash, and having a couple big sponsors.”
  • CStephenson17: “Rickie is definitely not moving. Just posted a video with the Speedzone.”

Brooks is getting paid with Nike and Netjets and Michelob “InBev” so three giant companies. 2 he’s a mix and match guy so no one company makes much sense. Maybe Taylormade? He doesn’t play their ball and he’s obviously been a big advocate for Mizuno irons. Throw in he games a Scotty, Pro V1x, and vokeys that doesn’t help either. If I were him being a Nike guy and having huge success with what’s working I’d stay where I’m at. Now if I were with some small boutique clothing company and no shoe deal maybe, but it’s the most recognized clothing brand on planet earth and he’s catching Tiger and Rory so can’t see a switch.

Molinari back to his Bettinardi putter and a TM driver?
    Rose back to TM?

Fowler to TM? Those Cobra proto blades say otherwise.

Today from the Forums: “New Axis 1 Tour-HM models at the 2020 Honda Classic”

Published

on

Today from the Forums shines the spotlight on new Axis 1 Tour-HM models featured at this week’s Honda Classic. The flat-sticks have garnered lots of reaction from WRXers, with our members currently split on the unique designs.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • tiger99210: “I like them. Doesn’t look Odd at all.”
  • Barracuda: “I don’t get the hate on companies that are actually trying to do something better than what we have available. I don’t play axis1, but it was definitely on my shortlist, I ended up with a LAB putter. It does look funky; it also helps me score better than my stunning queen B6.”
  • Steel Dillo: “I’d be more interested if they were priced reasonably. Just don’t see what drives their cost up comparable to a fully milled specialty brand other than having Rose’s name on them. IMO, they should be in that $200-$250 range like their other putters.”
