The bunker basics you need to know

At Naples National Golf Club, we experience a lot of different bunker shots from all sorts of different lies. If you have a great setup and maintain a simple technique, you can really save shots around the greens. Here are my keys when helping my students improve their bunker play.
Technique
Almost every bunker shot that we hit around the greens uses the same technique. Our setup is what changes our shot selection. The keys I emphasize with my students of all levels are the following:
All Bunker Shots
- Wide and quiet base, straight shaft angle
- Keep knee flex of the lead knee toward the target
- Long fluid backswing
- The loft of the golf club never changes from address to finish

Clement: Matthew Wolff’s swing is reverse engineered the Wisdom way!

Man are we enjoying the recent turn of events with the teaching and coaching situation on the tour and on social media. It clearly demonstrates the existing deficiencies in golf instruction today and is eroding the status quo in a big way! You gotta love how Gankas and Wolff are swaggering with confidence and enjoy our take on Matt Wolff’s genius moves. The best part? MORE ARE ON THE WAY with Omer Bhatia, Danny Lee, even the older guys are having some fun with it like Padraig Harrington.

I usually ditch what I’ve been working on after my second shot into the second green.

Good tip, thanks. I probably have 3 different full swings: driver, 3w/hybrids, and irons. Best with my hybrid so will try and copy that for the other 2.
