Greg Norman reveals letter snub from Tiger Woods following 2019 Masters: “Maybe Tiger just dislikes me”

Published

on

Greg Norman has revealed how he heard nothing back from Tiger Woods after reaching out to the 15-time major champion following his 2019 Masters win which has left the Australian pondering whether Woods dislikes the Australian.

Speaking to Men’s Health Australia, Norman detailed what happened when he decided to hand-deliver a congratulatory letter to Woods after his Masters win this year.

“Very few people know this: when Tiger won the Masters this year, I wrote him a handwritten note and drove down my road, maybe a quarter of a mile, and hand-delivered it to his guard at his gate. I said, “Hey, this is Greg Norman here. I’ve got a note for Tiger – can you please hand-deliver it to him?” Well, I never heard a word back from the guy.”

Norman mused to the publication how perhaps Woods dislikes him, after comparing the perceived snub to how Norman and Jack Nicklaus interacted following the Australian’s first major victory.

“Jack was the first person to walk down out of the TV tower and congratulate me. I don’t know – maybe Tiger just dislikes me. I have no idea. I’ve never had a conversation with him about it.”

The Australian previously stated in 2017 on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” that despite living half a mile from Woods that he hadn’t spoken one word to the 43-year-old in ten years.

In his most recent interview with Mens Health Australia, Norman claimed that he has always been willing.”

“I’ve always been respectful about what his father did for him. I played nine holes with him at his father’s and IMG’s request when Tiger was 14 or 15 and I was the No. 1 player in the world, to give an assessment of this kid. So, I have always been willing.”

Gregory needs to follow their example.
What a douche to tattle to the media.

He has been criticizing Tiger for years and now he wants to be buddies.
Lol that he had to hand deliver a note and give it to bodyguard. That is funny.

Norman, you are irrellevant. Stop trying to get free publicity and get your name in the news by riding Tigers coat tails.
We actually thought you were better than that, guess not.
Look, get over it. Tiger is the GOAT and you are its ninny.

Greg Norman is renown as a jerk by 99% of the people that have had the displeasure to know him or work with him. He makes Mickelson look a nice guy.

Of course Tiger doesn’t like him. Not many people do.He’s earned and these cheesy, low-class whining is exactly the kind of poor me stunt he has continually engaged in over the years.

How many Boomers have millenials as children. Boomers ended in 1964. Both my chldren were born in the 80’s. hardly millenials. And put my sons up against any of yours any day!

Millenials are most commonly regarded as being born between the early 80s to the mid 90s so a lot of boomers have these children. I was born in 1985 as were most of my friends (give or take a few years) and none of us share most of the common traits of millenials, so I am not sure where they came up with the birth years.

…sounds like the woman who coos “I love you” just to get one back, and bristles indignant when it dosen’t.’Tis folly to think Tiger wouldn’t recognize most every self-serving approach ever considered…

Greg Norman is an unmitigated ASS. I used to be a fan. However, after listening to him constantly knock Tiger at every chance he had, I got fed up. Go win 15 majors and 82 tour events and then you can complain about Tiger. In the meantime do us all a favor and be quiet – no one really cares what you think about anything. Maybe you can call another US Open for Fox. You did a great job there – NOT.

You went out of your way….half a mile down the road? Gosh, be careful Greg! I hope you don’t need to go too far to the supermarket to buy food, or travel to the doctors! Come on Greg, sort yourself out!

If this note was nothing more than a thoughtful gesture we wouldn’t be reading this. The fact that Greg has gone on record about this essentially signifies he was expecting something in return for all his effort and is just p*ssed ‘cos he didn’t get it. This reflects badly on Greg Norman, not Tiger.

Maybe it has something to do with the trash talk to the media Norman let loose with after Tiger “got caught”.
Norman was very unflattering to Tiger and said he was “finished, he’ll never win again”.
Short time later Norman dumps his wife of +20 yrs and takes up with Chris Everrett, and trashes his wife in the process.
Tiger had more restraint than I would have had in that situation with Norman, I think by not responding he got the point across better than otherwise.

Boomers trained the snowflake millenials well. Who has been in charge of shaping school curriculum for over the last 30 years? Boomers. Have a wonderful day.

          Nov 5, 2019 at 9:19 am

I am completely befuddled at all of the complaining about millennials that the prior generations do. These kids didnt just come out of the womb like that. They learned what they were taught and the experiences they had from their parents and prior generations. If people have that much of an issue with the way millennials have turned out there is a shocking lack of accountability from those who had a huge part in making them that way.

On Tuesday, U.S.-based investment firm, AJ Capital Partners, announced plans to renovate the Macdonald Rusacks Hotel beside the Old Course at St. Andrews, which is set to feature a new rooftop bar overlooking the Old Course’s iconic 18th hole.

The new bar is set to be 3,000-square feet in size and is expected to be completed by July 2021 for the 150th Open Championship.

Speaking on the new project, AJ Capital CEO Ben Weprin stated in a release

“St Andrews is one of the most iconic destinations in the world, and our team is honored to embark upon bringing our unique approach to hospitality to this incredibly historic and inspiring community.”

As well as the rooftop “19th hole”, the hotels current 70 rooms and restaurant facilities will be upgraded, while an additional 44 rooms will be added – all of which will pay tribute to St. Andrews and the Old Course’s designer, Old Tom Morris.

“We look forward to creating an experience for both guests and locals alike that celebrates and commemorates St. Andrews’ storied past for years to come.” – Ben Weprin
