Forum Thread of the Day: “Martin Kaymer loses PGA Tour card”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day revolves around Martin Kaymer losing his PGA Tour card after missing the cut at last week’s Wyndham Championship. With no wins since the 2014 U.S. Open, Kaymer now loses all of his Tour exemptions, and as he fell short of playing the 15 required events this season, is unlikely to receive conditional status. Our members discuss what is next for the German.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • Lagavulin62: “I’m not sure I would call it sad. He lost his tour card because the sport is extremely competitive. Everyone gets to that point. But at 34 he is still young, and I’m sure he can bounce back if he really wants it. Then maybe he will recognize he had a great career and move on? I’m not worried about this guy and his family moving into tent city.”
  • mjen43: “Kaymer is 91st in the world. He’s not playing poorly, and he is not hurting for playing opportunities. With only 14 events played, he essentially chose to give up his card.”
  • Dave230: “Kaymer is better off on the European Tour for now I would say, try to build the game back up. Was actually playing decent this summer with some good finishes.”
  • KRAMER1997: “He is actually playing decent golf this year. In 19 events he has 5 top 20 finishes and has gotten back inside the top 100 of the OWGR. Knowing Kaymer, he’ll probably win a couple of big events next year like he does every 4-6 years and then disappears into oblivion again. I’m willing to bet that Kaymer wins again before Spieth. Kaymer tends to win big events in bunches, and then lose his game.”

Bryson DeChambeau’s latest message to slow play critics: “Screw all y’all haters”

Published

on

Just a few of days after vowing to step up his attempts to improve his pace of play, a video has surfaced from this Wednesday’s Pro-Am at Medinah of DeChambeau defending his pace at last week’s event and attacking his critics.

The video which you can see here at the Twitter account @DMeyer06, appears to be taken on a fans Snapchat account, and within it DeChambeau states

“I was never on the clock last week, y’all can say whatever you want, but we’re having a fu**ing good time. So screw all y’all haters”

DeChambeau’s message in the Snapchat video looks to contradict the statement he posted to his Instagram account on Monday where he said

“I’m constantly trying to improve and I will do my very best to improve my pace.”

DeChambeau is currently in action at this week’s BMW Championship where he posted a score of 1 under par in his opening round.
