Lawyers in case against Tiger Woods’ restaurant and girlfriend claim bartender was high on marijuana, stole alcohol
On Monday, lawyers representing Tiger Woods’ girlfriend Erica Herman and his South Florida restaurant, The Woods Jupiter, claimed that the bartender who had a fatal crash after working at Tiger Woods’ restaurant, was high on pot and stole alcohol from the eatery before the accident last December.
According to GolfWeek, citing court documents, the Medical Examiner’s Office of District 19 in Fort Pierce, Fla found that Nicholas Immesberger had more than five times the limit of THC in his body at the time of the crash, possessing a Delta-9-THC level of 13.3 ng/mL.
In court documents filed Monday afternoon also cite that attorney’s for Herman and The Woods restaurant allege that General Motors is liable for the employee’s death because of airbag defects in the 1999 Chevrolet Corvette he was driving, while also claiming that Immesberger “used his position as a bartender” to take alcohol from the premises before driving drunk.
Per the files, Herman and The Woods’ lawyers claim that Immesberger was “more than 50 per cent at fault” for his own death.
The surveillance tape which Immesberger’s family claim would “provide vital evidence” has since been destroyed. Herman and Woods’ attorney’s stated that they did not receive a request to preserve the restaurant’s surveillance tape from Dec. 10 until Feb. 19, despite Immesberger’s lawyer’s investigating the incident since Jan. 8.
Tiger Woods was initially named as a defendant in the case, but his name was dropped from the lawsuit last month.
A motion to dismiss Herman from the lawsuit is scheduled for Sept. 27.

Rougish bartenders don’t garner much sympathy in this day and time. Sorry he died, but the barkeep is supposed to be the adult at upscale watering holes.
High THC load plus pilfering alcohol doesn’t put his estate in a good light for gaining any settlement money. Although Florida does not require bartenders to have a license, a smart bar owner will require his pourers to have training. Competent bartending requires skills in mixology, engaging the public and knowledge of liability laws.
Tiger Woods and Ms. Herman are incidentally involved in this event. This is a story that belongs on the TMZ net, not the sports page.
