Tiger Woods announces new venture which will see him design the greens at future PopStroke events

Published

on

On Thursday, Tiger Woods announced a new partnership between his business entity TGR Ventures and PopStroke Entertainment Group, that will see the 15-time major champion design the putting greens at future PopStroke events.

In a statement released on his website, Woods said

“This is a natural extension of my golf course design philosophy and my TGR Design business. Our goal has always been to design courses that bring people together and are fun for golfers of all abilities and ages.”

PopStroke describes itself as “a technology-infused golf-entertainment concept featuring professionally designed putting courses and exceptional food and beverage”.

There is currently just one PopStroke facility open in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Expansion is on the way, however, with sites in Scottsdale, Arizona and Fort Myers, Florida currently under development, with more planned for the new year.

According to the release, Popstroke plans on implementing the “iPutt” ball at the events. The ball transmits scores electronically to the custom PopStroke app and can be used to compete against fellow players in “a dynamic, social and tournament environment”. Players will then be able to earn “Pop Bucks” through the PopStroke loyalty rewards app program.

Speaking on the addition of Tiger Woods to the Popstroke experience, PopStroke founder Greg Bartoli stated

“Tiger Woods has had the most significant impact in growing the game of golf around the world and his investment and partnership in PopStroke will undoubtedly introduce the game to a new and wider audience of participants,”
