I think it was on this episode that you mentioned that you don’t replace the soft spikes, you just buy another pair of shoes. You must have much more money than we do in Washington state. I switch from winter to summer spikes, and back again, using the harder, larger profile spikes in the winter when it gets slippery/soggy. That’s too much spike for the summer here, when it can go 3 months with no rain, so in late Spring I install the more flexible, lower profile spikes. It costs about $12 for a complete set of new spikes, and takes maybe 20 minutes. I keep all my shoes a long time, even having dress shoes re-soled. I have no interest in replacing shoes I wear once a week every year, especially when they cost the same as 4 rounds of golf.
