If I was still President I would invite young Brooke into the Oval Office for some Presidential Cigars. Yes I would!

She said when she was growing up and learning the game the only clubs she had were way to long for her so she choked down and she has ever since!

2017 WITB for Brooke showed SW of D7 and D5 for her driver and 3w
    http://www.golfwrx.com/461322/brooke-henderson-witb-2017/

Its no wonder she grips down 3 inches.
    Ben Hogan’s clubs were C8-C9

    Congratulations to Brooke.

I’m no scientist, but if she used clubs that were proper length without having to grip down, wouldn’t they be a little lighter and easier to swing? Don’t understand why you would have the extra length but not use it when you are gripping down every time. I realize it works for her, but I would love to know her reasoning for this. I believe Tommy Fleetwood grips down as well but not sure if he has extra long shafts

Lighter and longer to hit the ball farther is marketing BS.

If you want to hit the ball where you intend, then the key is proper length and weight for each specific golfer.

Brooke found that for herself, and if she were to listen to others to change,
her game would go south, as it has for so many before her. eg Lydia Ko, Michele Wie

Can anyone tell me why she uses a 48 inch dive and then chokes up 3 inches?

Makes absolutely no sense! Dynamics of swingweighting and shaft stiffness…. like the girl alot but her specs, including a 2 wood loft in her 3 wood make little sense when you consider many men on the tour use 16.5 in there 3 woods!

She averages 280/ drive. I think she’s figured it out .

No chance she averages 280 off the tee. Love her game and her competitive attitude is off the charts but she is not that long. Great athlete and representative of Canada but length is not her strength.

No chance??? 279.231 which is #7 on the LPGA Tour.
Pretty sure she has her reasons for using what she uses and her clubs seem to be working very well to me!

Her driving average for Rounds 1,3,and 4 of the Lotte Championship was 293 yards……that’s the AVERAGE…I am sure there are some PGA players who would take that!!

Many men on the pga are CC, ‘pus..s’, compared to Brooke
        .
        Brooke was goalie in hockey ;
“Physically, my forearms and my legs from carrying around all the equipment all the time and being able to shoot pucks with a blocker and trapper on, it gave me a lot of strength that otherwise I might not have and you can see it in my golf swing,” she says. “I can hit the ball quite a bit farther than a lot of the other girls just because I have that hockey background.”

Plays the game with great determination win, lose or draw. A natural talent for sure with probably one of the best attitudes both on and off the course. Go Brooke, make us proud. Oh Canada!

I am a big fan of hers and like how she is always true to herself. I am proud how she represents Canada. Go Brooke!

I’m guessing that at the 48″ driver length it’s not tipped because the stock shaft comes in at 46″.
Way da go Brooke, nice to see our Canadian golfers wining some tournaments. Corey just won the Valero Open.

One of the very best photographs of a golfer in action that I have ever seen.

I wonder if that club length dictates some part of the choice of flexes in her shafts. I suspect it is little wonder that she goes X flex in all of her woods with those kinds of static lengths and light static weights.

A 48 inch driver and a 45 inch 3 wood? Is she like 7 feet tall?

    • Bwall

      Apr 22, 2019 at 12:23 am

She chokes up on all her clubs 3 inches, driver through wedge.

Never say “choke” on the golf course lol. Maybe grip/gripping down might be better.
