Forum Thread of the Day: “Longest 3-hybrid?”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from moorebaseball, who is on the hunt for the longest 3-hybrid on the market. Our members give their opinions on the matter while sharing their experiences using different 3-hybrids.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • rkeiso184: “410 without a doubt. Had a fitting last week. Tried Titleist 180m carry, Mizuno 175m carry (got this as this was my gap), Ping 205m carry and so straight, Callaway 180m carry.”
  • Markrip: “The F8 I’m using now is really long. It’s made me forget I have a 4 wood in the bag. I had an RBZ that was close but had a much lower ball flight and had a lot of roll. The F8 is almost all carry.”
  • kiwii: “Taylormade M2/M4 have been monsters for me. A sleeper hybrid is the Adams Super XTD. All titanium. Was super long.”
  • kcd38: “Ping G410 hybrid is longer than I expected. Last season I had the G400 hybrid in the same loft, and after playing this weekend, I overshot my yardages twice with the 410 (I was happy to have the extra distance on one, the other shot ended up rolling into some water)”

No love for Tour Exotics hybrids??? Most underrated OEM. Their hybrids and fairways are rocket launcher!

Clearly Titleist nowhere to be seen when we’re talking distance… Shame that’s the only woods I like!

If you struggle with driver, and can hit hybrids well, the longest hybrid you can hit off the tee certainly matters….

I hit the IDEA Super Hybrid from years back. I kill it. I bought 3 on ebay!

If you want a “long” 3h you’re entirely missing the point of a hybrid. It should fill a gap between the longest iron you carry and the shortest metalwood and the key is accuracy and ball flight.

I could care less what the longest 3 hybrid is. I care about the dispersion, how it feels, that it fills a distance gap, and that it, along with my swing produces a land angle and spin rate so that i may hit and stay on greens.

At GolfWRX, we are a community of like-minded individuals that all experience and express our enjoyment of the game in many ways.

It’s that sense of community that drives day-to-day interactions in the forums on topics that range from best driver to what marker you use to mark your ball. It even allows us to share another thing we all love – buying and selling equipment.

Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, there is a listing for a set of Mizuno 245 irons.

From the seller: (@JB_007): “1. Mizuno Pro 245 – $1000 –> 950/obo

  • Project X LS 6.5
  • Stock MCC Mizuno Grips.”
