Looks like Little John Daly is a “Long John” as well

Published

on

John Daly’s 15-year-old son is again the talk of the PNC Father/Son Challenge. JD and LJD first teed it up in the event together in 2016, and Long John the Younger, with Loudmouth Golf attire that matches his father’s, has been a minor sensation ever since.

Oh, and he can absolutely rip it. Check out Skratch TV’s video from the range at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.

“Thank God I’ve got him on my team this week,” you can hear Daly the Elder say after his son’s missile.

Proud papa.

And if you doubt the kid has game and think this is mere puffery, consider he won the IJGA Invitational at Harbour Town last year, triumphing in a five-man playoff.

Or, you can check out this video of Daly talking about his son’s golfing prowess. (However, if you’re offended by a liberal use of the f-word, you may not want to do so)

The pair tee off with Retief and Leo Goosen at 9:36 a.m. tomorrow in the two-day, 36-hole competition. Angel Cabrera and Angel Cabrera, Jr. won the tournament last year.

I would tend to believe that college educated with degrees in what ever is not as you describe low IQ ball beaters. And they can even carry on conversations that do sound rather intelligent ! They on the most part are interacting with one another can laugh be upset honest and above all can play golf very well . And they are able to think and adjust to all kinds of citations when needed . Now the article was about a young man trying his best to play golf, not about his father who at times fell in the wrong direction . Most normal people with any type of IQ would understand this and leave it at that so find something positive in this young mans journey to become what ever he wants.

Low IQ ball beater? He was one of the longest ball strikers, best sand players, and putters in his prime. The only low IQ is coming from the comment section here…

Swings it like Cameron Champ. The way he shallows the club. Good luck to him.

That swing is amazing! I am definitely having fun watching the PNC Father/Son Challenge! Also, if you haven’t seen the documentary The Short Game on Netflix. Check it out. It follows Little John through junior tournaments.

Titleist responds to USGA and R&A’s Distance Insights Report

Published

on

Titleist has responded to the USGA and R&A’s ‘Distance Insights Report’ saying in-part that the governing bodies are focusing too much on the men’s professional game, and are undervaluing the skill of the game’s elite.

In a written statement titled “A Perspective on the Distance Insights Report”, David Maher, CEO and president of Titleist’s parent company, Acushnet, wrote

“We believe the conclusions drawn in this Report undervalue the skill and athleticism of the game’s very best players and focus far too much on the top of the men’s professional game and project this on golf and golfers as a whole.”

Maher stressed that the current equipment regulations are sufficient in halting any significant increases going forward by the longest hitters in the game, and believes that any changes implemented that could see a local rule put in place, would be a wrong move.

“The existing equipment regulations allow professional and amateur golfers to play by the same unified set of rules, with the same equipment, and on the same courses. We believe that playing by a unified set of rules coalesces our game, is an essential part of its global understanding and appeal, and eliminates the inconsistency and inability that would come from multiple sets of equipment standards.”

The use of technology to bring younger people into the sport and aid the longevity of golfers was also highlighted by Maher who said

“Golf is bringing younger players into the game sooner and keeping older players longer than ever; professional golf is as dynamic and entertaining as it’s ever been; and the game remains a healthy challenge for all players and at all levels.”
