In the transition and DS, the hips move in anticipation of the upper body swing, in order to provide the equal and opposite reaction force. Without it we would be off balance. Job one for our subconscious is to keep us upright.(genetic)

It has nothing to do with clearing lead hip. if anything, we need to be aware of trail hip clearing out the way for the arms in the DS and impact. With hips ahead of the ball in BS there will be space for arms in DS.
The Johnny Miller video, shows how his trail hip moved toward the target during the BS, just as Ben Hogan and George Knudson. The “lateral move” or sway is toward the target in the BS.(equal and opposite reaction)

    ..more video with Savannah please.

Really, Shawn… you should stop dropping Newtonian Physics terminology just to make it sound like you know what you are talking about. I’ll bet you never calculated a “kinetic energy” chain of events and you only throw the term about to sound clever. You’re not and you are misusing the term ‘kinetic chain’. You are only referring to a kinematic and geometric chain of events.

Best putting machine ever: You

Published

on

So many professionals on different tours struggle with their putting — and then they wonder why amateurs are struggling. It is high time (because of my success as a putting coach is less known but no less successful) that they let another coach take a crack at it with very real science and anatomy to back it all up.

I’m talking about every aspect of putting (from stance, to distance to ball, to posture, to alignment, to distance control, to speed of entry, to psychology). You will love how incredibly basic and sophisticated this video is and how easily it will be to apply for you. Enjoy the lower scores and freedom!
