Which Air Jordan model should Nike release as a golf shoe next?

Published

on

According to GolfMagic, Nike’s Air Jordan III golf shoe took off from the foul line and soared right out of stock.

Per the site: “Nike launched this new model back in February… but you’ll do very well to get your hands on either them right now as they have sold out on Nike’s website. However, a Nike spokesperson has since commented saying “more is on the way.”

Grammar aside, this is interesting.

Now, it wasn’t long ago that all golf shoes looked like this.

And with all due respect to the Etonic Dri-Lite of yore, and giving wide berth to the traditionalists in the golf footwear space, the transition to sneaker-style golf shoes is cool, isn’t it? I mean, even if you’re monumentally swagger impaired like myself and could never pull the “Js on the fairways” look off, it’s intriguing, no?

With that in mind, and recognizing the demand for the 3s, I thought it’d be interesting to consider what the next Jordan golf shoe ought to be.

Here are my finalists for the next wide release (yes, I know Nike made Ray Allen custom 11s and MJ has had a few customs). Many of these are new colorways of classic (OG) models. I’ve tried for a range of styles and picks from across the Jordan timeline. Images via the excellent catalogue on the Jordan website.

Air Jordan XXXII

Air Jordan VI

Air Jordan VIII

Air Jordan II (low)

Air Jordan XXX

The next shoe should be the Colin Kaepernick model, a shoe in which you can only tie the laces when you’ve bent down on one knee. All my Nike stuff’s been chucked into the “poor box.” Gonna be some well-dressed homeless out there!

Who gives a f**k about MJ shoes? Go work on your game. Or better yet, teach a kid how to play.

Doesn’t matter what Nike does now – I have thrown all my Nike items away. If they support and anti-American like Colin Kaepernick. As a veteran I am offended by his stance against the troops and good Americans everywhere. If you can’t stand for the Flag then you are against this country’s fighting servicemen.

This may be shocking to all of you 12 cappers commenting about getting rid of your Nike gear, but Nike considered your response and realized that 30-50 year old white males currently make up very little of their sales numbers and won’t impact their sales in any meaningful way, but connecting with minority groups in america who actually care about social issues will improve their brand. So, thrash and squeal all you want. They don’t care about you and they haven’t in a long time.

I hope all the boycotting of Nike carries over to Hurley and Converse as well, both owned by Nike. It would seem to coincidental if it was just Nike and Jordan Brand that made you all upset. Seems like that is the exact issue at the root of CK’s protesting.
You can donate all your unwanted Nike gear to http://www.adopt-a-va.com/clothing-for-veterans.html

I threw away all my Nike stuff that was made by extorted child labor laws in a foreign country I don’t know anything about but only because Nike represents an athlete domestically that forced me to considered issues that I don’t know anything about.

I wear Nike everything more now than ever before, but not a fan of Air Jordan’s in golf.
MJ wasn’t a pro golfer so stick with BB and let Tiger, Rory and others design Nike golf shoes.

Regarding the social message Nike represents, either you’re blind, stupid or just ignorant if you can’t see that Police are murdering black males getting away with murder. Shoot first ask questions second. Fact some can’t see that is called privilege. Very convenient you don’t have to worry about it right now. But your time is coming pal. America is going to change because statistically you’re out numbered. Why do you think they are trying to suppress the minority vote via Voter ID. Stupid fools…it’s just a matter of time when those in power no longer look like you and when they start shooting and killing folks that do look like you maybe then you might understand why CK is taking a knee.

As a police – if we ask 1st shoot 2nd we are dead and leaving our families and friends behind.
Do I agree with the shootings? No!
But if Im in the same situation Im doing the same damn thing! I have a job, to Protect and Serve! And if Im not here I cant do either one!
The thing people cant understand is we vow to protect all colors at all times!
So its pretty simple- we say hands up its hands up the 1st time, Not the 2nd, 3rd or 4th.
Anyways Id like the Jordan 11’s or in this pic the Jordan 2 low

I’ll wear my nike stuff till they wear out (not burning anything). But I won’t buy more. Wow, you’re REALLY angry! Are you that angry about black males killing each other at record rate? Sad that this page becomes social commentary.

Hey, my time is ‘coming’? WTF is that, some kind of warning? (I’m shaking in my boots! LOL).
Just make sure you’re better armed than me sport, or your time will come.

When Nike promoted Kaepernick in their lastest ad campaign they probably figured they would piss off a certain percentage of potential consumers. Consider me among many others that won’t spend a dime on anything they make.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought on which Jordan should be released next. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The answer is 11s, then 4s or 5s. You’ve picked quite possibly the worst Jordans to make into golf shoes.

      Oct 22, 2018 at 10:24 am

Well said. But instead of 5s, I would go with 6 lows.

Check your Jordan Retro Numbers.. the third picture is Retro 8’s not 7’s. Also, the last picture is not 6’s.

I use my Kobe 11’s at the range. They’re great. Very stable.

The answer is Jordan 32 low or Jordan 7 low.

The answer is 11 lows, anything else is incorrect.

Your suspicions confirmed: Brooks Koepka is in ESPN’s Body Issue

Published

on

Brooks Koepka took to social media on Wednesday to give us all a sneak peek of his appearance in ESPN’s Body Issue, which drops next month.

Earlier this year, Koepka disclosed that he lost 24 pounds inside five months, and it was rumored that the reason for the weight loss was for a photoshoot.

Criticism from many followed at the time, with Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee calling the move the “most reckless self-sabotage I have ever seen”. Two victories (including the PGA Championship) and a further four top-5 finishes later, the reason for the weight loss has now become clear.

On posting the image to his Instagram account, Koepka urged his followers to “go get a copy”. But at least one of his peers has already let the 29-year-old know that they wouldn’t be doing so, with Justin Thomas commenting

“Nah man … I’m good.”

Which one you taking, WRXers?

Some awesome shots of World Woods GC in Florida courtesy of Zoe.

Although World Woods is a bit of a drive from Tampa, it is well worth the trek north for a great round of golf! The whole area had a crazy amount of rain the past couple of weeks, but besides a few flooded bunkers you wouldn’t have known (at least the Pine Barrens course)- evidence of great course drainage. The whole round I had to remind myself I was in Florida and not North Carolina. The course is tight, tree lined, and so many waste bunkers that each golf cart comes with its own sand rake. Don’t be deterred by the description though. There are plenty of “redemption” holes which help to keep scores low. I only had time to play the Pine Barrens course, but look forward to coming back to the area to try the Rolling Oaks course. The great rack rate and the proximity of other great golf courses makes this a great location for a future FL golf trip (who’s in?!? ????).
