Can you guys please get the audio sorted out? Andrew is way louder than Steve. When I’m listening in the car Steve is almost impossible to hear.

PGA Tour coaches are mostly overrated while PGA Tour caddies are mostly underrated.

On instruction in general, something needs to change. Despite the millions invested annually in lessons and golf schools, the only folks who are meaningfully getting better are those in golf programs (HS & College teams, and academy kids (Leadbetter, CMac, etc)). Individual lessons don’t stick, even when they’re taken in a string. Too much time between them for bad habits and new faults to appear and get ingrained.

Not pointing fingers (plenty of issues on both teacher and student sides), but the average index hasn’t materially changed in 25 years despite huge advances in equipment, fitting, and access to technology (Game Golf, GPS, Laser Rangefinders, etc). This article tries to put lipstick on the handicap pig. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/a-closer-look-at-handicap-data-shows-just-how-much-golfers-have-improved-in-recent-years It compares 1991 to 2016, and shows a 1.9 stroke reduction. Over 25 years. Without continuous engagement that is more than 45 mins at a time, at a reasonable cost structure, handicaps likely won’t get much better over the next qtr century.

This game is damn hard (yet still damn fun – go figure), and we need some revolutionary thinking around how to make the masses better at playing it. Wish I was smart enough to be that person, but I’m not. Whoever does will make a fortune’s fortune.
