James Patrick (JP) Harrington and Titleist part ways

Published

on

A five-year partnership between Titleist and wedge maker JP Harrington — the man some believed would succeed Bob Vokey — has come to an end.

Patrick, for his part, posted the following on Instagram.

Last May, Titleist launched the JP Wedge Experience — a high-end wedge fitting and custom building conducted by Harrington himself. You can see many of the fruits of that labor on the James Patrick Golf Instagram.

Little beyond the “Experience,” however, emerged publicly from the five-year partnership. Whether Harrington will join forces with another OEM or return to solo work — likely no longer in his mother’s garage in Minnesota — remains to be seen.

What do you think, GolfWRX members? What makes the most sense for JP?

Wedges have the least amount of technology in the bag….just buy to replace worn out grooves, don’t be fooled.

When you have ideas and are driven the last thing needed is someone trying to control you. Not saying that’s what happened here but this wedge build was seriously expensive. Something I would never pay for but doubt he saw all the rewards from it. Now he can build custom wedges on his own like Tyson Lamb and be backed up for months but enjoying his work.
