New PXG 0811X and 0811XF “Gen2” drivers hit the USGA conforming clubs list
Based on two new entries on the USGA Conforming Clubs list, PXG may have new “0811X Gen2” and “0811XF Gen2” drivers coming to market in the future; “Gen2” is nomenclature that PXG has used on its recent PXG Gen2 irons.
PXG’s first generation 0811 drivers released 3 years ago, and have since been replaced with PXG 0811X, 0811LX and 0811XF drivers. Now, as of October 1, it seems 0811X Gen2 and 0811XF Gen2 drivers are on their way. PXG isn’t currently reporting information on the new Gen2 irons, so we’re left to speculate on designs based on the photos.
Check out the differences between the older models and the newer models below; we’ll use the USGA photos of both to ensure an apples-to-apples comparison. Take notice of the different positioning of the screw ports, which house either tungsten or lighter weight titanium screws that allow for CG (center of gravity) adjustments that effect trajectory and ball flight.

This is glorified hot garbage at best. Get a Taylormade tour Issue head and be done with all the other gimmicks.

Tour Issue also being glorified garbage. What would a tour issued head do for someone that the same off the shelf driver wouldn’t?
Matter of fact, if that tour issued head has already been hit melted, it might be even worse for a player.

I always love the look of the PXG drivers but after hitting them they just do not perform.

I hit an 811 vs. my Ping G400. Did not see any reason to change, least of all because of the distance.

The brand placement is a bit over the top and obvious. Basically it’s offset just so the PXG logo is level with the ground while Billy Ho et al are holding their finish. That logo is HUGE and screams LOOK AT ME!

Did you say the same with the Ping G25 and G30 driver heads?
