SPOTTED: Anthony Kim “recent” swing sighting?

Published

on

Anthony Kim, once one of the best golfers in the world, hasn’t played in a PGA Tour event since 2012. Today, he’s only 33 years old, but he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place with an apparent insurance situation. Essentially, if he plays, he allegedly loses a bunch of money. Here’s more on those details.

On the Tuesday of 2018 Ryder Cup week, Instagram user and golf teacher @jamesridyard posted a video of Anthony Kim. The original video description said it was a recent video, but the description has since been updated saying “not my video.” Geez, even the Instagram descriptions about Anthony Kim are mysterious.

When is this video from exactly? We’re working on figuring that out right now. We’ve even tried identifying the model of his shoes to see when they released, but no luck yet. They look like Nike Roshe’s but with Air Force soles? Either way, the video is certainly from post-2012, that we know for sure.

Update: @jamesridyard says the video is “at least two years old” in a recent update of his video description. This news broke the golf internet’s collective heart, but we have to remember, seeing Anthony Kim’s swing from 2 years ago is better than nothing at all.

Check out the post below for yourself…

In case that video doesn’t work, here’s another…

What do you think of Anthony Kim’s “recent” move?

Note: We will update this story when we confirm exactly when this video is from.

This is `trending’. And has been for two weeks now.

I saw AK hit balls last night at Woodley lakes range in LA. Watched him chip, putt and hit a large grinding on some moves. Wider stance, didn’t move off the ball as much and was hitting f’ing lasers. I went up to him and complimented his swing, said you look a lot like Anthony Kim. His reply was trying to be somebody. I took a video from behind of him smashing driver…

Fake news! C’mon Golfwrx. Don’t become like all of the other media outlets that fill spaces with made up stories. Is that what they teach in journalism school now?

How you gonna name yourself after a gun (AK)… and have a man bun??? (the lines are not original)

      Sep 27, 2018 at 4:27 pm

He didn’t name himself, genius. I get what you’re going for but it doesn’t work at all in this case. Machine Gun Kelly actually gave himself that name, Anthony Kim did not.

would love to see him play on the tour again, of course.
but that decision is his, not ours. leave him alone.

Swings like that are a dime a dozen on the PGA Tour. That man-bun, however, is lit.

Wouldn’t he have made way more staying on tour?

Maybe he really was injured pretty seriously?

It looks like a beautiful and peaceful place, would be nice to go play golf or just sit and relax for while in a good weather. Places like these should be promoted more.

With all the surgeries he needed and how much he toke out for insuring himself. He is making millions just sitting around. If he comes back , he loses all the insurance money and might not have the same level of success he had originally. It is a huge risk for him he has said before and I don’t think he is 100% sure he can make it out there anymore.

If you can swing all out as evidenced in this video, wouldn’t claiming insurance money for “not being able to play” be insurance fraud?

Why not just have a sponsor step up and pay whatever he owes, to stage an epic comeback??

Because apparently it is like 10mm. You want to volunteer?

Didn’t he hurt himself after wearing all those oversized and gaudy “AK” belt buckles?

Anthony Kim sightings are more rare than Big Foot or Loch Ness Monster sightings. If he came back to the tour, it would be the 2nd biggest media frenzy of a comeback on the PGA tour next to Tiger.

I hope he ended his friendship with whoever told him to file an insurance claim.

Shoes could be Air force 1 Flyknit? I believe they were released 2017.

A mountain of talent gone away. This man had the talent to dominate the tour.

Agree, but maybe not dominate but definitely top 10 material. Strange situation in deed.

The man bun went out at least 2 years ago. No chance that’s recent.

Yup that is an old video. He doesn’t look like that any more.

Looks like Little John Daly is a “Long John” as well

Published

on

John Daly’s 15-year-old son is again the talk of the PNC Father/Son Challenge. JD and LJD first teed it up in the event together in 2016, and Long John the Younger, with Loudmouth Golf attire that matches his father’s, has been a minor sensation ever since.

Oh, and he can absolutely rip it. Check out Skratch TV’s video from the range at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.

“Thank God I’ve got him on my team this week,” you can hear Daly the Elder say after his son’s missile.

Proud papa.

And if you doubt the kid has game and think this is mere puffery, consider he won the IJGA Invitational at Harbour Town last year, triumphing in a five-man playoff.

Or, you can check out this video of Daly talking about his son’s golfing prowess. (However, if you’re offended by a liberal use of the f-word, you may not want to do so)

The pair tee off with Retief and Leo Goosen at 9:36 a.m. tomorrow in the two-day, 36-hole competition. Angel Cabrera and Angel Cabrera, Jr. won the tournament last year.

Adam “Pacman” Jones talks handicap, lowest score, shows off new clubs

Published

on

The trick-shot artist, golfing dynamo, and general internet phenomenon that is Matty sat down for a quick nine questions with veteran NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones, who plays to a 14 handicap.

Check out their conversation below.

Matty also took a peek at the fresh set of clubs in Jones’ bag. It looks like Matty, who is affiliated with Bridgestone Golf, has made sure the veteran cornerback has the company’s latest wares, including custom Tour B X-CB irons and custom KBS Tour shafts.

Hopefully, Matty will follow up with an Adam Jones WOTW (What’s on the Wrist). Holy Rolly, Pacman!
