Find out how many shots it takes the PGA Tour’s elite players to earn your yearly income

Published

on

Ever wondered how many shots it takes some of the PGA Tour’s elite players to earn your annual salary? Probably not, but prepare to be depressed. It’s no secret that the money on the PGA Tour is enormous. Players have the luxury of flying from event to event on private jets, and the best in the world are currently competing for the FedEx Cup’s $10 million jackpot. Now, a new tool created by David McSweeney allows you to work out just how quickly it takes these stars to earn your annual income.

McSweeney, one of the founders of Noob.norm, previously figured out how much Tiger Woods had earned over his career in each state and how much he had banked per shot in his career on the PGA Tour compared to his peers. Well now he’s back, and he’s created a tool that allows you to find out just how many shots it takes the PGA Tour’s best players to earn your annual salary. Just pop in your yearly wage, choose a player, and see just how quickly these stars earn that amount.

Check it out here and have fun with it. Word of warning, however, the results may leave you feeling a little despondent.

*The tool can’t be embedded or we’d have included it here.

    What does it matter

The top 50-100 in the world in nearly any profession will make a ton of money, so this isn’t exactly shocking. What I find the most interesting is looking at the Web.com money list – those guys are unbelievably good at golf and most don’t make enough to break even.

I’m not sure what the point of this article is. To make us feel bad about ourselves or to make the players look like they don’t work hard to make their money? Counting the estimated shots that they hit in practice would give this a little more justification.

Bryson DeChambeau’s latest message to slow play critics: “Screw all y’all haters”

Published

on

Just a few of days after vowing to step up his attempts to improve his pace of play, a video has surfaced from this Wednesday’s Pro-Am at Medinah of DeChambeau defending his pace at last week’s event and attacking his critics.

The video which you can see here at the Twitter account @DMeyer06, appears to be taken on a fans Snapchat account, and within it DeChambeau states

“I was never on the clock last week, y’all can say whatever you want, but we’re having a fu**ing good time. So screw all y’all haters”

DeChambeau’s message in the Snapchat video looks to contradict the statement he posted to his Instagram account on Monday where he said

“I’m constantly trying to improve and I will do my very best to improve my pace.”

DeChambeau is currently in action at this week’s BMW Championship where he posted a score of 1 under par in his opening round.
