GolfWRX Forum Thread of the Day: How many “regular” PGA wins equal a “major” win?

Published

on

Today’s GolfWRX Forum Thread of the day comes from our members discussing the Player of the Year. Commenting on major wins compared to regular Tour wins, our members talk about Koepka’s two-major season, and what it would take for a different player to beat him out of the title. “How many regular Tour events equals one major win?”

Here are a few comments from the forum, but make sure to check the whole thing out in the link below:

  • johnseg: “Tough call for me. I like to see guys dominate. So I would put a 6 win guy ahead of a guy with two majors.”
  • FootWedge16: “In fact, I think there are a number of people on this forum that would rather have Koepka’s career (4 wins and 3 majors) than Dustin Johnson’s career (19 wins and 1 major). Which is completely ridiculous.”
  • c7015: “I want to say like 5-6 but in reality, no amount of regular wins replace a major … just ask the people in the tiger vs jack thread”

    I’m sure there are guys in the “a lot of wins but no Major” category that would trade a LOT of those wins for just one Major.

    Masters = 7
    US Open = 6
    Open = 5
    PGA= 4

    It is probably around the 5 win number but it’s a tricky question because if you are more of a average pro then you’ll take the 5 wins. If you are a stud you’ll take the majors.

From the Forums: How are you liking TaylorMade’s Qi10 fairway woods?

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing TaylorMade’s new Qi10 fairway woods. WRXer ‘ace036’ plans on testing them in the next few weeks, saying: “from how they look from address and frame the ball is much more appealing to my eye versus my current Paradym fairway woods.” And our members have been sharing their positive feedback in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • Edwardsr: “I got fit into the Qi10 core model with Ventus TR Black 8X and it’s absolutely amazing for me.During the fitting with my 12-15 swings with it, it was the most efficient combo I’ve ever tested, tons of 1.48 smash and 3 or 4 1.49 smash (which I don’t think I’ve ever gotten on 3 wood on a launch monitor).”
  • MiloMalt: “No complaints and so far only high praise for my Qi10 Tour 3 and 5 wood. I’m getting great numbers and a nice penetrating ball flight with great height whereas with my old TSi2 4 wood it was spinny and ballooning and short because of that.”
  • courcy75: “The Qi10 Tour 3 wood I just put in play has been outstanding for me. Finally found something I like as much as the 07 burner tp.”
