10 interesting photos from the PGA Championship

Published

on

GolfWRX is live from the PGA Championship, where a special jumbo verion Wanamaker Trophy will be awarded for this the 100th edition of the tournament (exclusive photo below).

Reportedly, Justin Thomas has told his inner circle he’s fine with failing in his title defense as he lacks the upper body strength to hoist this beauty.

*note: this is not true, and the Wanamaker is a bonus inclusion among the 10 photos, so don’t @ me saying there are 11.

Marty Jertson, Ping’s Director of Product Development and PGA Championship, qualifier is shocking the world with an all ping bag. What’s next Peter Uilhlein playing 14 Titleist clubs?!

Craig Hock’s Saber Golf putter was certainly among the most interesting flatsticks we spotted at Bellerive.

How about PGA pro Ben Kern (and Kansas State alum) with the custom purple paintfill?

Good heavens, is that a Yes! Tiffany?

Take the weight out of the bottom and add it to the top, eh Rafa?

Real players spell out their numbers.

Find a better headcover than Chris Wood’s Woody. We’ll wait.

Also: Woody may be a Stoolie…

Captain Thomas Bjorn with the Big Bertha Heavenwood!

Scotty’s PGA Championship putter cover features…a cardinal and the Gateway Arch, which is entirely appropriate. Well played.

Wednesday’s photos from the 2019 Masters

Published

on

GolfWRX is live this week from the 2019 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club (par 72: 7,475 yards) in Augusta, Georgia. The famed home of the season-opening major was designed by Bobby Jones and Alistair McKenzie and first opened for play in 1933.

The field this year, which consists of only 86 players — the smallest field since 1997 (also 86 players) — and player fewer than last year’s tournament. Rory McIlroy’s pursuit of the career grand slam, Dustin Johnson arriving at Augusta in his best form since his 2017 slip-and-fall, and Tiger Woods quest for major number 15 have dominated pre-tournament headlines.

You can see the full Masters odds here.
