SPOTTED: New Odyssey EXO Seven proto, New Odyssey putter shaft, and Toulon “Palm Beach” putter

Published

on

A few new products have popped up in our GolfWRX Forums. Odyssey, however, isn’t speaking on any of them, leaving GolfWRX Members to speculate.

Included in the new spotted photos is a new Odyssey #7 EXO putter that appears to have a bar connecting the back “wings,” which the original EXO Seven design did not have. One would have to assume the bar in the back will drive center of gravity further back for higher moment of inertia (MOI, a measure of forgiveness) but time will tell. Also, the shaft connected to the new EXO #7 appears to be new, as well. Labeled with just “Odyssey” leaves few clues, although the shaft is reminiscent of the Barney Adams BGT “Stability” shafts. Could this be similar technology?

Lastly, a new Toulon prototype has popped up in our forums, and it appears to be called the “Palm Beach.”

Odyssey/Toulon, I know you have started,
but [please] release more toe flow mallet putter models to the public. A flow neck V Fang for example would be fantastic.

Better buy those putters before POTUS slaps a big tariff on Chinese-made golf stuff…. IOW all drivers, irons, putters… but not shoes made in Veit Nam.

oh those potent pinisputters look so masculine when you whip it out on the green.

I have a #7 0-works putter and love the wings as is. The added bar may make it harder to scoop up the ball when practicing. Would have liked to have seen the face on the putters though

Spotted: Project X Denali hybrid shaft

Published

on

Project X’s Denali wood shafts have been seen in more and more golf bags this year as we start off the season. As a refresher, Denali Blue is the mid-launch and mid-spin model while Denali Black is for players seeking lower launch and spin.

Denali combines great feel with stability and increased ball speed. Currently, Project X only offers Denali Blue and Black in wood shafts, but we spotted a hybrid shaft in Daniel Berger’s bag at the 2024 Zurich Classic.

The shaft looks to be a Denali Blue 105G – HY in TX flex. No word on details from Project X yet but we can assume that this is a mid-launching shaft that weighs around 105 grams in Tour X-Stiff flex.

Berger has this shaft in his TaylorMade P770 3-iron, likely for some added launch and spin to hold the green from longer distances.

Hopefully, this means we will see some more shafts coming under the Denali name in the future, as I think many of us would like to try one in a hybrid or utility iron!
