Titleist adds Vokey K Grind (54º and 56º) to WedgeWorks lineup

Published

on

Building on the popularity of the SM7 K grind, Bob Vokey has crafted a new WedgeWorks K grind in 54° and 56° lofts. The WedgeWorks K Grind features increased bounce and enhanced camber, making the new K Grind Vokey’s highest bounce wedge option at 16°.

According to the company, this wedge is ideal for the player that uses their 54° or 56° as their main go-to short game tool, as well as their primary bunker club. The K grind is well-suited for a player looking to hit both square and open-face shots.

BOB VOKEY: “The K Grind is one of my favorites, and it has been a great lob wedge. But now we’re seeing a trend on tour of players using more 54° and 56° wedges greenside, where versatility is key. Wedges at this loft have to work incredibly well for full swing shots, particularly controlling trajectory, and this is why the measured bounce is 16°.”

“But I’m particularly excited about the enhanced camber of this wedge. The camber allows the high measured bounce to be much more versatile from tight lies and greenside shots. We tightened the radius from the leading edge to the trailing edge, so what a golfer will see and feel is the club gliding through the turf and sand.”

AARON DILL (Vokey Wedge Tour Rep): “On Tour, we see more and more players discovering how well the sand wedge performs, leading to consistency of spin, trajectory, and better misses.”

The new Vokey WedgeWorks K Grind will be available on Wednesday, June 13 on Vokey.com starting at $195 – base price includes up to 10 character stamping (straight or freestyle), custom shaft band and BV Wing grip. They are available in either a Brushed Chrome or Oil Can finish.

Available Models: Right-handed: Brushed Chrome: 54°, 56°. Oil Can: 54°, 56°. Left-handed: Brushed Chrome: 54°, 56°.

SPOTTED: Srixon Z-785 driver, Z-U85 utility irons

Published

on

We recently spotted new Srixon Z-785 drivers and Z-U85 utility irons, which are likely future replacements for Srixon’s Z-765 driver and Z-U65 utility irons. Srixon is staying hush on the tech details at the moment but did allow us to take photos of the new equipment.

Released in 2016, the Z-765 driver was a smaller-profile, lower-launching counterpart offering to the Z-565 driver, so it could be possible that there is also a Z-585 driver, counter to the Z-785 driver that we spotted. Also, it appears the Z-U85 utility irons come in at least 5 different lofts: 2-6 irons.

See more photos below, and check out discussion on the Z-785 drivers and Z-U85 utility irons.

Brooks Koepka’s Winning Outfit: 2018 U.S. Open

Published

on

Brooks Koepka played like he dressed on Sunday at Shinnecock Hills for the final round of the U.S. Open; his outfit was athletic, well put together, boring with a bit of flash (those shoes!!), and most importantly, it got the job done.

See the golf clubs and shafts Brooks used to win.

A great representative of the new age of golf, Koepka has the frame of a baseball player, and he’s not afraid to accentuate it with tight-fitting polos and an athletic look. For Sunday, he chose a white-on-gray-on-gray look that was understated, but clean — just like his scorecard. He really made the Nike Golf Tour Premiere PE shoes, with hits of electric orange, the star. Check out the details on his full outfit below.

Brooks Koepka’s Winning Outfit

  • Hat: Nike AeroBill Classic99
  • Shirt: Nike Zonal Cooling polo
  • Belt: Nike Stretch Woven
  • Pants: Nike Flex
  • Shoes: Nike Golf Tour Premiere PE
