GolfWRX members weigh in on the best swings on the PGA Tour

Who has the best swing on the PGA Tour? On the one hand, the answer is Dustin Johnson, as he’s the No. 1 player in the world, right? Of course, golf fans banter about the “best” swing on the PGA Tour over beers in the grill room, they’re usually talking about technical soundness and aesthetics more than results.

It’s in this vein that GolfWRX members schley started a thread asking the forum faithful for their picks for the three best swings on Tour. For his part, shcley says Ernie Els, Adam Scott, and Louis Oosthuizen.

GatorMD says: Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Louis Oosthuizen

SASSpeeder says: Louis Oosthuizen, Luke List, Ernie Els

Bladehunter says: Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson

Oz dee cee says: Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Louis Oosthuizen

Bye says: Charl Schwartzel, Adam Scott, Justin Thomas

What do you think of these responses, GolfWRX members? Just a sample from the first 20 or so, obviously, and there are plenty more perspectives in the thread.

Who are your top three, GolfWRXers?

Louis, Scott, Rory, in that order. Bladehunter is WAY off.

    Which Tiger ‘swing’ though?

Lee Trevino, Arnold Palmer, Jim Furyck. They all have several majors between them with those funky swings.

Charlie Hoffman is Hogan like and Angel Cabrera simple, smooth as The Slammer or Bobby Jones.

  7. Thomas

I’ll tell you after the Byron Nelson in a couple weeks 🙂 Couples is smooth and effortless.

Has to be Adam Scott’s as it is so aesthetically pleasing. I remember Jordan Spieth tried to emulate his swing as an amateur but failed miserably at it. That’s ok. He did alright with his own swing.

Who on earth would ever say Tiger, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth? Tiger and Jason Day have had back problems for years (directly related to their swings), and Spieth’s swing isn’t one to emulate. All good players (obviously), but much better swings to try and replicate. Here’s an idea, try and swing the club with what works best for you/your body….

If I had to pick, Justin Rose….

(can’t argue with JR’s swing….best iron swing IMO)……but that you say Tigers swing is not eligible for back problems reason is ……(sorry)…STUPID.

Right on point Mr. Dude, the comment you replied to was as you stated “less than intellectually honest”, I like the way you said it better, including the (sorry)…smile

The DailyWRX: What’s buzzing on social media (5/26/2020)

I hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day weekend—but we back to work and the golf season is in full blossom.

Here is what was a buzzin’ on the interweb.

I wonder who from the top sheet is a legitimate stick. My money is on Steph. I’ve seen him up close and the guy can get it around—meaning the guy can hit it all over the place and still shoot in the low 70s. That’s the mark of a player.

Thank you…

I get to work a dream job because you all fight to keep us safe. We are nothing without you.

If you were placing bets before the tee shots…

No one, I mean no one, bets on TW having the worst shot. Odds are 6.5 billion to 1.

The equation of comfy…

Torn ground + favorite t-shirt = kitty fur…I get it. I’m in. Where do I pay?

Public service announcement…

He split his pants. It’s Tom Brady. No amount of memes, Twitter posts, or IG things will make it anything. I was hoping the world would let that one go due to its LOWWWWWWWWW hanging fruit appeal. I mean I’m writing a “do not post”…post on it, What a world.

DM @johnny_wunder with non-Tom Brady tore his pants stuff.

GolfWRX Classifieds Spotlight (05/26/20): Miuras, Mizuno, Callaway

At GolfWRX, we love golf equipment plain and simple

We are a community of like-minded individuals that all experience and express our enjoyment for the game in many ways. It’s that sense of community that drives day-to-day interactions in the forums on topics that range from best driver to what marker you use to mark your ball, it even allows us to share another thing – the equipment itself.

One of the best ways to enjoy equipment is to experiment and whether you are looking to buy-sell-or trade (as the name suggests) you can find almost anything in the GolfWRX BST Forum. From one-off custom Scotty Cameron Circle T putters, to iron sets, wedges, and barely hit drivers, you can find it all in our constantly updated marketplace.

These are some of the latest cool finds from the GolfWRX BST, and if you are curious about the rules to participate in the BST Forum you can check them out here: GolfWRX BST Rules

Member BennettSmed1 – Mizuno T20 RAW wedges

They’re so new they haven’t rusted yet! Here’s your opportunity to get some almost new Mizuno T20 wedges in your bag for less than new price.

Member cardoza – Long drive Callaway XR16

As Phil likes to say “it’s all about hitting bombs” and that is exactly what you will be doing with this hard to find 5.0° Callaway XR16 LD Driver head. **Phil-like results NOT Guaranteed*

Member dlarocca1 – Drool worthy Miura Set

There are nasty sets, and then there are NASTY SETS!! These Mitsubishi OTi110 shafts are not common and to see them in a set like this is even more impressive. To top it all off they have been built with BB&F Ferrules, to give them an extra premium look (it’s not like it was really needed – but they are appreciated). This set is expensive but still well under what it would cost new.
