TG2: New PXG 0311 Gen2 irons, and Knudson calls out Tiger?

Published

on

Things get heated as equipment expert Brian Knudson calls out Tiger Woods for “laying up” on 18, and “not playing to win” the Valspar. Editor Andrew Tursky strongly disagrees. Also, the guys talk PXG’s new 0311 Gen2 irons and provide details on a putter giveaway (hint: follow @tg2wrx on Instagram).

Many agreed with you Brian and were shaking their heads. After Tiger hit the tee shot on 18 with his iron, that caused an immediate string of texts between friends asking – why? wtf! Andrew makes some very good points in breaking down why… but the fact is Tiger did not birdie that hole in the previous 3 rounds. That should have been his only thought. A wedge in his hand with the ability to control the spin (because tiger can do anything he wants) should help increase his odds. Anyway – it was a taste of the old days and we definitely want more! Thank you Tiger. Side note Johnny Miller ripped into Tiger as well about the iron on 18. He gave Tiger a C on the report card for his iron play for the week. Also noting that tiger wasn’t going for many flags – maybe not confident enough in iron play?? Look up Johnny golf channel interview – he’s definitely siding with Brian… but Johnny also likes to rattle folks cages. šŸ˜‰ I’m glad you mentioned it Brian – because many of us were thinking it.

Love him or hate him, Tiger is the greatest winner golf has ever seen.

I’m no fan of Woods but to suggest he wasn’t playing to win is beyond stupid. Nothing would’ve given Woods more pleasure than to prove wrong everyone who’d written him off. At his very best Woods couldn’t hit a driver so going with iron off the tee made sense.

And how many tournaments has Brian Knudson won?

Equipment expert? LLLOL. No credibility. We will not let the Hogan persimmon faux-pas be forgotten. Ignore away, Tiger.
