Mitsubishi Diamana WB: What you need to know + club build, on-course testing
GolfWRX’s Resident Club Junkie, Brian Knudson, was naturally excited to get his hands on Mitsubishi’s new Diamana WB shaft.
In this video, BK gives you a brief overview of the new WB, builds up a driver, and takes it to the course for some testing.
With the rebirth of the iconic Whiteboard profile, Mitsubishi didn’t just re-issue a classic, but rather infused all the company’s latest tech into a new shaft, paying homage to the original with its quintessentially Hawaiian-inspired stylings. A summary of that impressive roster of technology, below.
- 80-ton Dialead pitch fiber: Positioned in the handle, Dialead is designed to deliver greater ball speed via better energy transfer.
- Aerospace-grade MR70 carbon fiber adds additional strength, and 46-ton fiber in angle plies in the tip section reduce torque for tighter shot dispersion.
- Consistent Feel Design: Engineers target minimal variance across shafts (butt OD, weight, and balance point) to make the fitting process easier.
- Xlink Tech Resin System: Engineers continue to reduce resin content and increase carbon fiber volume for greater feel without sacrificing strength and durability.

Clearly Gankas is for the millennial golfer. His information is excellent because it works. I’ve watched 5 of his YouTube videos and seen how George interacts and then corrects his students with video, metrics and then a hands on ( literally) help. I could see anyone over 50 years old struggling with the information overload. The YouTube video with the 10year old girl was fascinating in that he was able to get her to hit a 180 yard drive with a 70 mph swing speed. Her track man numbers were pretty well perfect.
George has a gift of individualising his instruction.

Seems as if Gankas was saying golf is a game of opposites – taller at address produces good posture through the ball, flying elbow leads to natural shallowing of the club, and then leaving the arms at the top without pulling, but feeling the pressure in the lead arm on the chest leads to more speed. It appears Gankas does not like a hip slide or the lead hip rising but leaving your hips centered and rotating them, then pushing off as the club reaches parallel on the downswing. Not confusing, just different from the patterns you may now be using.

Without pulling, there is slack.
Slack disrupts energy transfer.
Pulling begins with the lats, creating tautness from lats to hands.

I thought good info on shallowing the club. Different perspective.

When you see videos like this it often send you more into a tail spin, due in part because the problems and or tips being examined aren’t ones you suffer from… Me and My golf vids are most often very good. This one IMO wasn’t…

TMAC.. agree, BS baffles brains.
Keep the right palm facing the sky and eliminate release
and clubhead will sweep the inside quadrant of the ball.
That is the only shallow that counts.
