Tiger Woods says there’s “definitely” a chance he doesn’t make a comeback

Published

on

At the 2017 Presidents Cup assistant captain’s press conference, 14-of-the-20 questions from reporters were directed at one assistant captain in particular, according to on-hand reports. That’s because the man in question is named Tiger Woods, and everyone is curious where his game and his head is at given his recent health and legal concerns.

For Tiger Woods fans hopeful of his comeback to golf, his response to one question in particular was certainly unsettling.

When asked if he could see a comeback to competitive golf not happening, Woods answered, “Yeah, definitely. I don’t know what the future holds for me. As I’ve told you guys, I’m hitting 60-yard shots.”

His wording there is a bit shocking, since we’ve never heard Tiger put his playing career in that much doubt before. But given the context, it’s clear he wasn’t saying that he doubts he’ll play again, but merely that he’s uncertain about the future. If he truly didn’t think that he could make a comeback to competitive golf, he likely wouldn’t be practicing, posting chipping videos to Instagram or having short-game competitions with the likes of Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas. Or maybe he would, and he’s just trolling the world, but I’ll take the under on that one.

He went on to summarize his immediate plans for rehabbing and getting back to hitting full shots.

“I’ve been out of the game for a while,” he said. “First thing’s first: Get my health organized. Make sure the pain goes away. Then, basically, just as I said, just keep waiting for what my surgeon says. I’ve given you guys the updates on what I can do as I progress, and that’s all I’m doing.”

For now, Woods has a Presidents Cup to assist in captaining, and let’s not get too hung up on the word “definitely.”

Wow! Such a visionary! Now slurp it up, Tigerettes. There is no way you will make a comeback, Eldrick, and there hasn’t been for years. Please save the last few ounces of respectability you have and disappear to AD’s muni track. No self-respecting person believes you anymore.

Bryson DeChambeau’s latest message to slow play critics: “Screw all y’all haters”

Published

on

Just a few of days after vowing to step up his attempts to improve his pace of play, a video has surfaced from this Wednesday’s Pro-Am at Medinah of DeChambeau defending his pace at last week’s event and attacking his critics.

The video which you can see here at the Twitter account @DMeyer06, appears to be taken on a fans Snapchat account, and within it DeChambeau states

“I was never on the clock last week, y’all can say whatever you want, but we’re having a fu**ing good time. So screw all y’all haters”

DeChambeau’s message in the Snapchat video looks to contradict the statement he posted to his Instagram account on Monday where he said

“I’m constantly trying to improve and I will do my very best to improve my pace.”

DeChambeau is currently in action at this week’s BMW Championship where he posted a score of 1 under par in his opening round.
