Puckish social mediaite that he is, Sir Nick Faldo tweeted a video of his boothmate, Jim Nantz, hitting driver after the pair wrapped coverage of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

“On the tee, the great Jim Nantz!” Nick Faldo intones.

Looks like Nantz is giving it a whack with a Callaway XR 16—and that’s not the stock Fujikura Speeder Evolution 565! You have to guess that the reigning Voice of Golf got himself a fitting, which is a good indication he takes the game seriously.

Jim Nantz XRNantz’s swing looks like the motion of a mid-handicap 58-year-old man, which makes sense since he is, well, a 58-year-old who presently maintains an 11.1 handicap.

Sidenote: Check out these home courses!

jim-nantz-home-coursesGood to see the man who calls the Masters isn’t a total hack. Obviously, Nantz wasn’t going to crack under pressure. The man could run into a burning building to save a litter of kittens and still calmy narrate a sporting event in the process.
