Mizuno teases its MP-18 irons on Nick Faldo’s birthday

Published

on

You might know that July 18 is National Caviar Day, or maybe even that it’s Nick Faldo’s birthday. That last bit matters for this story about Mizuno’s latest video that teases its MP-18 irons. The video includes birthday boy Nick Faldo (he’s 60 today) gushing over Mizuno’s newest muscleback irons… which, mind you, have “18” in their name. Beautifully executed, right?

GolfWRX first spotted the MP-18 irons at the Masters, where Jhonny Vegas debuted them on the PGA Tour. Mizuno isn’t offering any additional details about the irons at the time, but the company usually launches its new products in the fall.

Thank you TCJ for the link on the Mizuno logo. I can see that it is a ” running bird” I still preferred the old logo but at least I now know what that thing represents now. At a glance I thought it looked like the Texas Longhorns.

Thank you Mizuno for thinking of us lefties this time around. Not sure I can resist these beauties!

I thought Faldo was no longer with Mizuno. Last I saw he was using Taylormade. Anyway I recall during his heyday he used the MP-29 which was a beautiful set of irons. Of course being one of his fans I had a set of them too. I’m still not sure why they changed their logo from the “M” to that strange looking design emblem. Anyone know what it is or represents??
