The Colt Ford Charity Classic took place on Sept. 24, 2012, the Monday after the PGA Tour’s Tour Championship in Atlanta. It was organized by Colt Ford, a former PGA Professional turned country music singer.

The event was hosted at Chateau Elan Resort’s private golf club (there are two other “resort” courses). Sixteen PGA Tour pros and several of country music singers participated with the goal of raising money for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

One of the tournament sponsors, Adams, had their local rep set up on a par 3 so players could try out Adams’ new V4 hybrid. Pat Dempsey, a Re-Max World Long Drive Champion in the Super Senior (55+) and Grand Champion (50+) Divison, also entertained participants by hitting an Adams V4 hybrid against competitors’ drivers. Only two players in the field were able to hit their drivers past Dempey’s hybrid.

This was the first year annual event, but Ford hopes to make it an every year affair — sort of like the Monday after the Masters that Hootie and the Blowfish do. Darius Rucker and Mark Bryan played golf and performed at the concert following golf Monday night.

Jake Owens (A big Cobra-Puma fan and a good player), John Michael Montgomery, Bo Bice, John Anderson, Justin Moore and Ford all played golf and also performed at the concert. Check out the photos below.
