For 15 grand, you can play a round of golf with Paige Spiranac

Published

on

Want to play golf with Paige Spiranac? Well, here’s your opportunity.

Charitybuzz’s second annual golf auction gives you the chance, but of course it’s going to cost you. The good news: Your thousands of dollars will go to help a great cause.

“I’m excited to partner with Charitybuzz and raise money for The Cybersmile Foundation, whose support programs help spread a positive message to those affected by cyberbullying around the world,” said Spiranac.

The Charitybuzz auction actually benefits a number of different charities and runs through May 4. In addition to the opportunity to tee it up with the social media sensation, here are a few of the other opportunities up for bid.

-A two-night stay and private round of golf with Steve Stricker at Bunker Hill Farms, an invitation only luxury lodge and golf property near Chicago

-A meet-and-greet with Jack Nicklaus, two week-long VIP tickets to the Memorial and a round at Muirfield in Dublin, Ohio

-Nine holes of golf and lunch with Annika Sorenstam at Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla.

-A round of golf with Daniel Berger at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Fla.

-The chance to caddie for Marc Leishman at the 2018 Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii

-Four nights at the Lodge at Pebble Beach, and two rounds at Pebble and one at Spyglass

-A foursome at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton, N.Y.

The current bid for the round with Ms. Spiranac at Grayhawk Golf Club: $7,000. The “estimated value” of the experience is $15,000.

Ps…at first, i thought she could have picked a better cause, but after reading most of these comments….it probably strikes very close to home for her

What a waste of money. What a stupid idea. What is wrong with people?! This confuses me.

I know someone who was offered a round at Augusta with a previous champion (won’t say who for obvious reasons) for $18,000. Unfortunately, that wasn’t $18,000 to a charity … the money would go to the past champion. Still … in terms of value it beats $15k on this package.

I’d rather play with Carly Boothe.

For me, 15K is a fair price for golfing with Annika as I totally respect her accomplishments and demeanor. For Paige, it would be a fair price for her to do something else (and it’s not golf).

Is this a new way of saying ‘Escort Service.’ 15K?????

Would rather play with an LPGA player.

Agree guys, it’s starting to get out of hand in the make-believe world of the LPGA. Today there’s a twitter vote on sponsors ‘exemptions’ for next month’s ShopRite and yet it’s not a free vote. Oh, no, there are four players to pick from (chosen by the sponsors) and none are deserving from a golfing competence point of view; they are just Barbie-dolls. There are far better ways to increase pro women’s golf coverage and interest and it sure as heck ain’t by having this sort of fakery, trickery and downright vacuous behaviour. Come on tour commissioner, grow some balls.

Or golf with Strick, dinner with Jack and a night cap with Paige? I could take out a loan for a day like that.

        -10.
What do people see in her? She’s fugly. I would rather spend $15K flying to some exotic city and live it up than throw it away on spending time with a worthless useless cow like her. Somebody tell that idiotic woman to actually play golf and be on Tour than ask for money like trailer trash

Make that appointment with your optometrist; and it’s for charity.

+10 Desmond. JH – after the optometrist, see the therapist. You seem to have some anger issues.

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.

For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • btyh: “Holy offset.”
  • Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
  • bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing

Published

on

As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.

Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
