Spotted: Mizuno MP-18 Irons
Mizuno’s JPX-900 Tour irons are one of the hottest models on the PGA Tour, but it appears there’s a new iron in the works at Mizuno that’s designed with the best golfers in the world in mind.
Here’s a photo of what looks to be Mizuno’s next muscleback iron, the MP-18. We’re guessing it’s the follow-up to Mizuno’s widely praised MP-4 and MP-5 muscleback irons.

New Level launches new 480-DB irons, blending performance and forgiveness
New Level has been making some really good golf equipment since the company started up in 2018. Offering irons that are more geared towards the better player, precision has been a fundamental philosophy for New Level in creating irons and wedges.
The 480 line of irons has been the flagship of the brand, and the newest member of that team is the 480-DB iron that is now open to pre-orders. A new cavity design is what the whole 480 line is about, and the 480-DB takes advantage of that with added ball speed and a larger sweet spot.
For players who require their irons to offer the best feel, rest assured the DB is a fully forged (from 1020 carbon steel) one-piece golf club. No multi-piece, hollow design with this iron.
While the 480-DB is the next generation of the popular 902-OS, New Level didn’t follow the current trend in golf by chasing distance with the new iron. They actually weakened the lofts on the 480-DB with the spec sheet showing a 33-degree 7-iron and 45-degree pitching wedge. These lofts allow the DB to have less offset while still offering consistent distance off the face.
A traditional design was also at the forefront of the new irons to make sure that golfers with an eye for detail can look down at them with confidence that they will perform under any condition.
A weight low in the back cavity will allow their master club builders to dial in the perfect weight for the golfer, no matter the length or shaft being used. New Level believes that the new 480-DB is one of the most forgiving one-piece forged irons on the market today. A pre-worn leading edge on the sole should get through the turf quickly and with reduced digging for better turf interaction.
You can pre-order the New Level 480-DB right now on the New Level website.

the real april fools joke is if they announced they were going to release their top model again in LH. Mizuno is a joke until they stop ignoring 25% of the golf population
Mike

mate i don’t think that golf has a disproportionate mix of left handers to the general population. Read anywhere its 10% on average.. so for you lefties… learn to play the RIGHT way.

Went into my local Golf Galaxy the other day. They had a section full of left-handed clubs. Was told they hardly ever sell any.

I’ll stick to my MP-32’s and MX-20’s from the Mizuno brand as part of my rotation which includes Titleist 714 AP1’s.

Hate ‘matte’ finish on musclebacks. Looks cheap. But to keep the chrome looking good you gotta put covers on them. Which sucks. Also, they had such good lines on the MP-4/5 series, this looks ridiculous.

LOL!
1. Looks cheap? Not even close…
2. Covers? I wish I had a dollar for every good player I saw with beat up blades. They are tools…next nice set around the corner.

You said it. Shank! And I was so looking forward to the news of the new blades. I’ll pass. That graphic in the centre is FUGLY. Can’t do it

Graphic? Isn’t that just the light??

Apr 3, 2017 at 3:48 am
Naw. It’s that black line graphic with the name of the club on it. Kinda like the T5 wedge with the black band, except on this MP, the name of the club is on it. Kills me. Too much, too busy. Not that I’m looking at the back of the iron to hit the damned thing, I just think it’s unnecessary

I’m pretty sure it’s not a graphic, Mizuno never puts ‘graphics’ on their MP lines. Could be a simple polish line being reflected by the light. The picture is pretty obscured.

The MP-18 writing is in that bar across the middle. I don’t like the cut bar section across the middle, nor the name of the club written there.

If you look closely, I think it’s a chrome ‘strip’ against the brushed finish. There is no badge or bar there. Look @ the 6 iron…

By bar he meant that there is a strip. Strip, bar, what difference does it make. It’s a strip-bar-slash-dash-line across the middle. Ugly.

Looks like the black line similar to the mp25 model. Not a big deal to me they still are not too “busy” though they look similar to the ping iblade imo, though they are at least forged.

New Blades? A blade is a blade whether it is new or 10 yrs old, a blade is a blade and the older ones work just a well and maybe better. It”s all in marketing and staying inbusness. Enjoy whatever you have or want.

Right, but they’re not going to just reproduce the same MP-14 or 29 every year like they should, so this is what we are left with. And with very few MP numbers left to name these clubs, when they could just continue to make the same models like MP-68 or 69 and call it a day
