2016 U.S. Open Odds

Published

on

Defending U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth has the second-best odds to win this week at Oakmont. The only one with better odds shouldn’t be a surprise.

Jason Day, the No. 1 player in the world, is a 7/1 favorite to claim his second career major title and his fourth win of the season. This is the second consecutive major that Day has been the favorite entering play as he was also a 7/1 favorite to win the Masters, where he ended up finishing T10.

Spieth, as mentioned, has the second-best odds, and Rory McIlroy at 17/2 rounds out the much-expected top three.

If you’re in the mood for an extreme long-shot, you have your choice of 33 golfers all going off at 1,000/1 — the worst odds on the board.

Here’s a look at all of the odds, courtesy of VegasInsider.com. They’re accurate as of 10 a.m. ET Monday.

I’d love to put some dollar on Ricky but I suspect he’s a choker

I’m tempted to run to the casino to place a few $5 bets on some 100/1 – 125/1 players. I’m blown away that some of these really freakin’ good European Tour players have such high odds when they are on the first page of the leader board every tournament. (Van Zyl & Cabrera Bello)

GolfWRX is on site this week at the Valero Texas Open.

The event has been around since 1922, making it one of the oldest on the PGA Tour calendar. Over the years, it’s been held at a variety of courses across the Lone Star State, but it’s found its home at TPC San Antonio in recent years. Some of the biggest names in golf have taken home the title here, including Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino, and Ben Crenshaw.

GolfWRX has its usual assortment of general galleries, WITBs and special pull-out albums. As always, we’ll continue to update the links below as more photos come in from TPC San Antonio.
