The GolfWRX forums exist so golfers have access to the latest equipment releases, hottest discussions, real equipment reviews, best instruction, new technologies and everything golf you can imagine.

Here’s a peek behind the curtain into golf’s sanctuary.

Jason Dufner’s high-tech ball-marking device

Tour photographer Greg Moore started this thread in 2012, and we’re not sure if this is still how Duf is marking his Titleist, but you have to check it out. A great example of the sort of inside-the-ropes stuff GolfWRX delivers with our weekly photos and comments in the forums.

Check out the thread.

In 2006, my irons were…

Awesome thread here started by Nudga. And while we could dress it up, the topic is pretty self-explanatory. You’ve gotta check it out to see what WRXers were gaming 10 years ago.

Tiger Woods: The only golf course designer who gets it?

tiger jeansFrankensteins Monster writes:

I watched the news conference about Bluejack. Some of the things he, his team, and the owners built are fabulous. The course has a short par 3 course. That course has lights on it for nighttime golf. The main course is set up so that balls have a hard time getting lost. It’s open but not a swing for the fences from wherever you are. The facility also has a wiffle ball field! In a time when the game is contracting, and you still have the likes of Nicklaus building courses harder and harder, and taking a minimum of six hours for a round, it’s a breath of fresh air to see a designer actually try to grow the game and attempt to make it a family event.

Woods’ design at Bluejack is getting a lot of attention for the designer’s inclusive approach to building a facility. Obviously, Bluejack exists within a larger community, so that accounts for some of the wealth of extras. However, Woods’ targeting of playability and family inclusiveness is rightfully noteworthy.

Life of a conditional Web.com Tour member

Matt-Hansen-golfer-home-4

Really interesting stuff from user GolfingBro (Matthew Hansen), who is a conditional member on the Web.com Tour. Matthew Hansen was kind enough to start a thread in mid-February that’s swelled to seven pages long. Here’s a brief snippet from his introduction discussing his road in golf

“So back to more mini tour stuff for awhile.  In spring I went thru Canadian tour Q school (now called the MacKenzie tour) and was successful in getting my card.  I spent the summer on the tour and played all the events but 1.   I guess I had an okay rookie year but I missed keeping my card by $900 Canadian which was frustrating. I missed 4 cuts by 1 stroke, that was rough.”

Check out this awesome thread.

Patrick Reed’s custom Bettinardi wedge

reed-bettinardi

Patrick Reed is a Callaway staffer. Thus, it’s interesting to see him with a 60-degree Bettinardi wedge in the bag at this week’s WGC-Cadillac Championship. Good eye by Greg Moore for spotting this custom beauty in P. Reed’s golf bag.

Have a look.

From the Forums: How are you liking TaylorMade’s Qi10 fairway woods?

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing TaylorMade’s new Qi10 fairway woods. WRXer ‘ace036’ plans on testing them in the next few weeks, saying: “from how they look from address and frame the ball is much more appealing to my eye versus my current Paradym fairway woods.” And our members have been sharing their positive feedback in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • Edwardsr: “I got fit into the Qi10 core model with Ventus TR Black 8X and it’s absolutely amazing for me.During the fitting with my 12-15 swings with it, it was the most efficient combo I’ve ever tested, tons of 1.48 smash and 3 or 4 1.49 smash (which I don’t think I’ve ever gotten on 3 wood on a launch monitor).”
  • MiloMalt: “No complaints and so far only high praise for my Qi10 Tour 3 and 5 wood. I’m getting great numbers and a nice penetrating ball flight with great height whereas with my old TSi2 4 wood it was spinny and ballooning and short because of that.”
  • courcy75: “The Qi10 Tour 3 wood I just put in play has been outstanding for me. Finally found something I like as much as the 07 burner tp.”
