TaylorMade PSi testing

HipCheck wrote: “Recently, 5 GolfWRX members were chosen to test TaylorMade PSi irons. Normally, testers would send their specs and receive their clubs after. This time, TaylorMade took it a step further and had each member properly fit by TaylorMade staff into their PSi irons. They’ll add their TaylorMade fitting sessions and PSi iron reviews shortly.”

Neilcsd was the first to post a thoughtful, insightful take on his fitting with TMag, and others have followed suit. As a combined PSi review and narrative of a cool experience, this thread is a must read (and it has pictures!).

Tiger swing video analysis

You knew when Tiger Woods tweeted a video hitting a soft 9-iron at a simulator screen — the first visual evidence of his swing in months — there would be analysis (in addition to jubilation that the former No. 1 is upright).

And there are few better places to talk shop about the golf swing than the GolfWRX forums. Ten pages and 276 posts long at the time of this writing, the breakdown of/commentary on TW’s “progressing nicely” video doesn’t disappoint.

The Zach Johnson thread was locked because too many comments touched on Zach’s religion. Fair enough. But isn’t golf a religion?

Guess you can’t respond to this promoted Zach Johnson thread. It’s been locked….. Is this place becoming the old bomb squad golf now? Locked threads, and are mass bannings far behind?……. The over regulation brought BSG down…

  Unfortunately, the thread was locked after it appeared in this story, and for that reason the link to the Zach Johnson thread had been removed. We lock threads as infrequently as possible, but it’s something our moderators have to do from time to time when a thread changes character and is longer viable due to multiple rules violations. Just a heads up, Ben, there are a few typos in this article. The second title should read “The best blades you’ve ever* hit”, and in the first paragraph under “Players you want to like but can’t” your first use of “it’s” should be “its”. There may have been one more, but I forget where it was.

In our forums, our members have been discussing TaylorMade’s new Qi10 fairway woods. WRXer ‘ace036’ plans on testing them in the next few weeks, saying: “from how they look from address and frame the ball is much more appealing to my eye versus my current Paradym fairway woods.” And our members have been sharing their positive feedback in our forum.

Edwardsr: “I got fit into the Qi10 core model with Ventus TR Black 8X and it’s absolutely amazing for me.During the fitting with my 12-15 swings with it, it was the most efficient combo I’ve ever tested, tons of 1.48 smash and 3 or 4 1.49 smash (which I don’t think I’ve ever gotten on 3 wood on a launch monitor).”
MiloMalt: “No complaints and so far only high praise for my Qi10 Tour 3 and 5 wood. I’m getting great numbers and a nice penetrating ball flight with great height whereas with my old TSi2 4 wood it was spinny and ballooning and short because of that.”
courcy75: “The Qi10 Tour 3 wood I just put in play has been outstanding for me. Finally found something I like as much as the 07 burner tp.”
