Nike’s new Lebron shoe, “Lebronold Palmer,” inspired by Arnold Palmer

Published

on

King James’ newest basketball shoe is inspired by a golfer — “The King,” Arnold Palmer.

Nike’s new LeBron 12 Low shoes were made in what Nike calls a “Lebronold Palmer” colorway, which is inspired by Arnold Palmer’s favorite drink — a combination of iced tea and lemonade.

The shoes have a lemonade-colored mesh upper that matches an underlying tropical palm tree motif. The White/Lime-Bright Mango colorway is a refreshing combination, although the paradise-like design made more sense when LeBron was still playing for the Miami Heat.

With a nod to Arnold Palmer, the heel design features a glass of the golfer’s patented lemonade-iced tea drink.

Nike’s Lebron 9 sneakers from 2013 were also made in a “LeBronold Palmer” colorway, but they never officially released to the public.

While the LeBron 12 “LeBronold Palmer” colorway was released on Feb. 28 in Europe, their release in the United States, which was scheduled for March 1, has been suspended indefinitely.

Gotta have ’em? You can snag a pair on Amazon for $449.99.

    Ugly at any price.
Besides that, it is a weak link to the real King…

The type of shoe made by popular by pop culture, intellectually weak athletes and gullible youth. Call me a cynic, but in the glory days (I’m 25 by the way, and yes the mid 90’s rocked and forever have my heart, and I bet the 80’s were even better) > if you wore shoes like this you either had no game and needed the attention via glamour OR you had a death wish athletically (basically you were giving a reason for other athletes to dislike you and wreck you harder). LB’s entire shoe line is garbage but kids are lining up for Yeezy’s these days too, so society is dead lol.

    LET YOUR GAME SPEAK.
The best looking males/females can make a plain white T and jeans look good
Give a prime Hogan, Nicklaus, Woods a pair of old slacks and a hand-me-down polo and we would all watch them swing the club
If Larry Bird was shooting 3’s in the same rugged and worn down Chuck Taylor’s, he’d draw crowds who would watch in silence

The beauty of sports and it’s culture is dwindling. I will continue working on designing my time machine. The future scares me…pink compression shorts are next?

$449.99 MSRP for any sneaker that is less than signed by “Mike” is not going to fly… No pun intended (Michael Jordan’s “Come Fly With Me”).

Now THAT is a golf shoe I would buy, were it made as such. So sick of boring black/grey/white/brown men are force-fed with. Let’s have some design and style like this. C’mon Nike.

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.

For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • btyh: “Holy offset.”
  • Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
  • bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing

Published

on

As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.

Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
