Photos from The Memorial

Published

on

GolfWRX is live from The Memorial Tournament, where Jack Nicklaus hosts 60 of the world’s best golfers at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio.

Last year, Matt Kuchar shot 12-under par to beat runner-up Kevin Chappell by two shots and earn his seventh PGA Tour win. That continued the trend of big-name wins at Jack’s place, which includes Tiger Woods in 2012 and 2009, Steve Stricker in 2011 and Justin Rose in 2010.

While Woods is not in the field this week due to his recovery from back surgery, Rory McIlroy, the No. 6-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings, is in attendance after a win at the European Tour’s BMW PGA Championship last week. He is joined by Bubba Watson (No. 5 in the OWGR), Kuchar (No. 4 in the OWGR) and Adam Scott, who validated his No. 1 ranking in the OWGR with a win at last week’s Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in a playoff over Jason Dufner.

Check out the photos we shot this week from The Memorial.

I might be mistaken but from what I can see, with the exception of Nick Watney, it looks like all the Nike staff are pretty much using their blades rather than cavities. Either says something to the quality if their blades or just the type of players Nike has on their staff. Don’t think I could ever rock the full Nike set up but damn it looks good in that red and white staff bag!

Got to agree with you there , I’ve Been so tempted by nikes blades so many times but for some reason I can never bring myself to buy a set !! Anyone else felt like this?? , yer your right everyone except watney do use their blades , I think it’s got something to do with the players nike sign , both woods and Mcilroy for example have the swings that blades were made for I think

Published

GolfWRX is on site this week at the Valero Texas Open.

The event has been around since 1922, making it one of the oldest on the PGA Tour calendar. Over the years, it’s been held at a variety of courses across the Lone Star State, but it’s found its home at TPC San Antonio in recent years. Some of the biggest names in golf have taken home the title here, including Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino, and Ben Crenshaw.

GolfWRX has its usual assortment of general galleries, WITBs and special pull-out albums. As always, we’ll continue to update the links below as more photos come in from TPC San Antonio.
